Live crawfish jig trailer?

Featured Replies

This has always been something I think is worth doing, and probably will in the near future. I think having the exact scent and profile of what bass are used to eating could definitely get more bites. Has anyone ever done this, or heard of anyone having success doing this?

I’ve never done it with a jig but have Trigged a live craw many times.

It would probably get bites, but if you’re going to use live bait all you need is a hook, and enough weight to get down to the depth you want to fish. The jig is unnecessary IMO.

They make sprays or gel scents that are easier than catching and hooking live bait on a jig.

If you decide try it I’d be curious to hear how it goes.

It would not be much different than a jig & minnow presentation. Fish Chris a past member on BR used to use live craws to catch monster large mouth bass & smallies also mean mouth in California waters. Mostly sight fishing as I remember.
