what type of fishing line should I use?

Past few outings, I've been snapped of by some nice bass, and I'm just getting sick and tired of it.

Right now I'm using P-Line Floroclear (Fluorocarbon Coated) 8lb test.

I have a 6"6 ML IM7 Graphite rod with a Shimano Spinning reel

The reel is only rated up to 8lb test with 90yards, which is very little, but I'm flat broke and can't afford another reel at the moment..

What's the best all around line to use ? I fish from shore (Senkos, Super Flukes, mostly all plastics with the occasional crank or spinner bait).

I love P-line! Everything that I use, except for braid (but their braid rocks too), is P-line.

Having said that, Flouroclear is pretty much the junkiest line ever. Abrasion is resistance is soo terrible it is unreal!

Try their CX premium in 10lb or CXX X-tra Strong in 8lb. That should help alot.

Thank you sir! and here I thought P-Line was junk! There's no fishing stores here in Oakland, and RiteAid near me sells P-Line, I thought everything they sold was junk.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test). Set your drag properly and you should NEVER be broken off by a fish.

The reel is rated for 8lb 90yards, is 11.9 going to be too much? How many yards could If it in there?

I have been using P-Line Floroclear for a couple of years now and never had any problems with it.  I am currently using the 6lb test on a Quantum Energy Pti-a 20 and a St.Croix Avid 6' ML.  So far the this year the line has never broke on me.  It is thinner than your standard 6lb test (.23mm compared to Yo-Zuri Hybrid .263mm).  It seems more like a 4lb test line that breaks around 11lb.  I have tried Evolution and CXX and I did not care for either one.

If you want try another copolymer, hybrid type line, you might look at Gamma or YoZuri Ultra Soft.  IMHO, the Gamma casts further and lands equally as many fish but it does not last as long as the YoZuri

Pline is a great line. Make sure you are tying your knot properly, use the search function and search knots. If you know thats not the case maybe you have a bad batch of line???

8# test sufix seige in smoke green.....i always usw this stuff and the only time ive lost a fish because of line breaking was actually a bad knot,,,i highly recomend it,i us smoke green only cuz it matches the water i fish yours may differ

The Ultra soft #6 has a 6 lb test diameter and a 11.9 lb break strength so capacity won't be an issue.  Besides, as long as the line is limp and manageable, capacity (diameter) is really never an issue in bass fishing.  You will probably never need any more that 30-40 yards of line to land a fish and usually much less.  If I'm wrong, based on previous experience here someone will be along shortly to correct me.

Agree with all of the above.
