Got my MBR783C GLX

Featured Replies

My financial circumstances are taking a bit of a dip.  Nothing terribly serious, but disposable income will be tighter than before.  Anyway, before I put the muzzle on the bait monkey, I had to get this rod.  I've wanted one since I bought my first loomis .  so I sold two rods, and went to ebay.   OH Yeah sales.  The best price, the best service, and by far the best packaging I ever got, even direct buys were not as packed as well as this.

Needless to say the rod, is like a magic wand.  I paired it up with up with a TD-Z 103H.  I feel like Merlin the magician with it in my hand.  Now if the temp would drop a little  or the evening lightning storms would calm I'll get to fish it b4 my surgery (aug 23)

Let this be a lesson to all of youse guyz what sez "I got enuff stuff, I don't need no more"

You never know when life is gonna bite you on the azz, so when you got deep pockets, buy it all.  Then when the rough times come, your still good to go.

Hey Avid I can relate to your situation. I have one more rod to buy before I try to shoot the Baitmonkey. I am going to try to get a bigger boat over the winter, so fishing rods and reels will be few and far between.

Good Luck with your surgery. I missed most of the prime fall fishing season with back surgery last year, August 3rd makes a year as matter of fact, so I can relate to missing the water. I hope everything goes well for you.

The MBR783C GLX was the first Loomis I purchased and like you said, it's like a magic wand.  I have paired mine with a Shimano Calais 201A.  It has become my go to setup.

Enjoy the new rod and I hope all goes well.

There is a reason Tackle Tour uses the mbr783c GLX as a benchmark in rod tests/reviews.  It is amazing that even after over 15 years; weight, balance, and sensitivity of the Loomis 783c GLX still set the standard.  There are fancier rods, but regarding the afforementioned attributes...it is and always will be the bar that Loomis set.
