.ghoti.

for all you shimano fanciers

Yeah, the 200s are heavy but the 100s are not too shabby at 7.4 oz. Ain't a pixy but who here is a weight weenie? ;D

Thanks, Ghoti! That is an awesome price. The $13.50 shipping price is a bit high and it makes the reel come out to $173.49.  However, at full price locally with my state's sales tax, it would cost me $217.36 which makes it still cheaper.  :o

Nice reel but too heavy.

???? Too heavy????  Holy cow man!  Makes me wonder how we possibly fished all day with those old red Ambassadeur 5000s and fiberglass rods.   :o

I had a Curado 201 and did not care for the weight and size of it.  It performed well but the feel was not what I wanted.  I should have purchased the 101.  I ended up returning it after fishing a whole weekend.  I can't imagine what the 300 size reel is like.

Just passing on a bargain I stumbled across. I know there are a lot of Shimano fans here.

The same site also has Energy PT's for the same price. that's a good deal too.

As far as the weight goes, when I become to feeble to fish with a reel weighing less than 10 ounces, I'll take up a less strenuous hobby; like knitting or maybe needlepoint.

I love my Shimano reels 7-10oz total weight, I really don't think you could really tell.  It's more in the ergonomics of the reel you notice in my opinion

Reel weight means little to me as long as the reel/rod combo balances correctly.

I agree.  I know even a few ounces will fatigue you after a day fishing.  But an rig with crappy balance will even more so.

My Curado D 200s are a wee bit heavy, but on my All Star rods they feel great.
