check it out ... theres new info on tackle tour

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! I see a couple (few) new Curados coming my way.........eventually. :D

OH SNAP! I don't think the citica looks that bad, I like the black spool.

I can't believe the value you get in that Citica.  It's only .2ozs heavier than the Curado and looks more badass for only $119.  Hmmmm....

They look good.  If I am seeing this correctly are they not offering a 6.something ratio Curado?  Why not have a 6.3 ratio?!  I use that as my all purpose reel.  They did the samething with the older Curado 200's and that was part of the reason I switched to Abu. JMO

"Shimano differentiates the reel by offering it only in a 6.2:1 retrieve, so if you want a burner reel or a slow speed 5.0:1 you will want to opt for the Curado, but if you are looking for a good all round reel the Citica E will likely appeal to you."

I agree though. I would like a 6.2:1 (or something similar) Curado too. Oh well, no big deal .

Well well well...

Time to go sell some plasma.

Looks like the Chronarch is not in my future, but the fortune teller said she saw a Curado 5.0:1 on my Carrot Stix and a 7.0:1 on the MBR843.

Yeah, I don't quite get the decision to NOT make the 6:1 ratio available in the 200 series.

Seems to me if there's one ratio you NEED to release for a reel to be popular, it's 6:1

And what happened to the $120 price range very frequently referenced in the rumors?  I don't see a $20 difference in price as big enough to make the Revo crowd think twice.

Yeah, the old Chronarch 100a is the first thing I thought of when I saw it.  I'm surprised they went the extra mile and anodized the spool, handle, and drag star in black.  Did I mention it has the Dartanium drag?!  I'm growing tired of trying to keep all my expensive reels from getting scratched...it's a PITA to put the reel covers on and off...make sure they are sitting face up when I don't have the reel covers on...etc.  I'm thinking about buying 6-8 Citicas I can use and abuse without worry.

Any idea on how come there is no 100 seris? you think they will eventually be out. I really like the look of both of the Reels i think the citica looks better made than the older version

Not sure how small the new 200 series is going to be but the article did say that they are a smaller profile than the current 200d series. They sure do weigh pretty close to the 100s of right now.

They made them as powerful as the 200ds and as light as the 100ds.  There is no reason to release a 100 size.  They still have the 50mg.

Those things are sweet.

I don 't care who you are, that 's funny !  ;D

I can imagine The Natural, rubbing his hands with an evil grin on his face looking at 6-8 Citicas.  ;D

Each and every Curado E will be made in Japan.
all Citica E reels will now be made in Japan

Good to hear.

Although I'm not sure I like the look of the new Citica.

The Curado will be my next BC reel. I need a burner and this is lookin good.

does this mean the new cu will be far better than the older us counter part ???? im not sure what to make of the whole made in japan ... i mean i know most guys feel japan reels are better .... i wonder how the japan cu will stack up aganst the ol us verson ??? i will say from the pics i like what i see ... however untill i see this reel in person and can be sure its not huge tank like the ol ones ,,, i wont even cosider ...

I think the old Curados were made in Japan too.

The Citica 100dsv was made in Japan for sure. I have one.

I posted that because I thought I read rumors of changes being made to go with Malaysia for all of the reels.

All Curado's have always been made in Japan. The Citica 100d was also made in Japan, the Citica 200d was made in Malaysia.

There has never been US counterpart, all Curado reels in all it 's different stages from A to E have always been manufactured in Japan.

You are confusing to which market the reels are aimed, Japan has it 's own line of reels ( japanese domestic models ), in some cases they are better, in others they are not. For example, the Curado 100D is by far a better reel than the Scorpion 1000/1001. The Scorpion 1000 was a a better reel than the Curado 100B in some aspects and it others it wasn 't.
