Great Deal On Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft

Featured Replies

yep, a great deal for 8,000 yards of line! i bought this a couple of months back and really like the line a lot. i originally got it for my spinning reels but it is so strong, i've been spooling my baitcasters with it. no line problems with breakage at all. the ONLY nit i have is that yo-zuri should have labeled this as 8 lb. test instead of 6 lb. test...after all, the 0.010" diameter is everyone else's 8 lb. test (this is only a problem if you were expecting a thinner line).

Yo-Zuri underrates their line so they can advertise how strong it is.

Most lines are labeled under the actual break strength.  However, many are accurately labeled to coincide with published knot breaking points...   Some people say it's to brag on break strength and other say it's to accurately advertise knot strength- which would equate to break strength in use.

Ande monofilament lays claim to more World Records than all other

lines combined. Ande Premium #6 is .010" diameter, the same as

Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft #6.

good deal but wouldn't it go bad before you could use it all?

BTW thanks on the line tip RW, i have it on my spinning rig and love it

If the line is kept inside, I'm not sure it would ever get old.

Fluorocarbon is an inert crystal which lasts indefinitely. The

line is a copolymer blend with a nylon component. So, I don't

know exactly what the answer is, but I would guess a decade

or more.

I'm still using some 8# Trilene XT from the early 80's and it is just fine.  So long as you keep it from excessive heat, it will last long enough to use it up.

Keep it in the refrigerator & it will last a very long time. :)

Wow thanks for the heads up RW!  I am completely addicted to this line.

Ultrasoft #6 + KVD Line and Lure = BUTTER

I have a color question for you.  Right now I have the mist green color because I think it matches well with the waters I fish.  I have heard you are not a fan of clear, so could you tell me what other colors you use and why?

I think you will find the Mist Green to be a good match in most water.

The "clear" is a somewhat chalky white, but I fish it, too! I think "clear"

looks better on some of my reels, how's that for a reason to buy a certain

color?

I wont disput your claim but I spooled a reel this spring with some XT 12lb, I had for a few years and it gave me nothing but trouble.   All I use is XT & XL Triline and I love. You guys use KVD on the Triline XT's n XL's  8-)

Haha thats awesome.  I just ordered a spool and there are officially only three left guys!

Be sure and get some KVD Line & Lure conditioner to go with it. That's the only way that Yo Zuri junk will be limp enough to cast.

I do think KVD Line & Lure Conditioner improves line management,

raising the "fun rating" from 9.5 to 10.

Ultrasoft #6 is not stiff or wiry or whatever you think the opposite of "limp" is.  Its much easier to deal with than mono imo.  KVD L+L just makes it even better.

Geez Jul 30th and Aug 7th already off sale?

PS  I use this on 4 or more setups. I don't need any line conditioner and I have ZERO problems
