I've had zero trouble with them. They are all very smooth. I love the cosmetics of them as well.

The medalist is particularly good, especialy for the price.  $80, 10 bearings lots of line capacity.

I've got a President and a Trion, both spinning reels. They are great. My President has a very slight grind to it though, it was that way out of the box and I just never took it back, but otherwise it's a seriously strong reel and does everything I want it to do so the grind isn't that big of an issue. But next time I get one (and I will be getting another one) I'll make sure I test it before buying it.

The Trion is smooth as silk, and actually for $20 less, it's probably the better deal at $40 instead of $60. The ONLY differences between them are that the Trion doesn't have a bearing on the spool shaft below the spool, and the two in the handle itself (7 total compared to the President's 10), and also the Trion is an all graphite frame and sideplate where the President does have an aluminum sideplate with a graphite frame. That's it. Next time I may just get another Trion and save $20.

Oh, sorry, I just noticed where you were asking about baitcasters.  But if they can make a spinning reel that is this good then their casters have to be great as well.

I've fished with Shimano spinning reels for a long timeand bought a Pflueger Supreme this year, I have to say I like it over the Shimano...BUT I wont trade my Curados.

Ya no problem! I was just trying to see if they made good products, not just casting! Hope i didn't throw any one of by saying bait casting!

Pfluegers are solid. From the Trion to the Patriarch, its all I use, spinning and casting, and have had very little problems. Check out the President.

This is my first year with a Pflueger (Trion 4725gx for ultra lite). Fantastic reel. Will be moving up to the Supreme when I put my next combo together.

Agreed.   Pflueger reels are at the top in their price range.  As you probably already know Pflueger is the high end subsidiary of Shakespeare.  

That is not the entire picture THET ARE ALL OWNED BY JARDEN, who bought out the former parent company Pure Fishing. Jarden is huge and ownsmany brand names now

Ask anybody to list their top 4 manufacturers and if Pflueger doesn't make that list they have their head in the sand!!  Pflueger is good stuff.  I own 2 Pflueger spinning reels same as Rooster, comments would be about the same.  I checked out their entire line of casting reels last spring and they have some nice ones.  I thought the Asaro was a gem for the price.

i haven't seen a better spinning reel out there than the pfluger supreme 9 bearings & it's magnesium on top of that it has no play what so ever in the rotor or the handle unlike my shimano sustain that has so much play i got sick of it sold it and bought another supreme ONLY $100 BUCKS ! the only reel that i like better is the stella and the daiwa feugo but i don't think thay are going to drop to 100 bucks anytime soon, so i'll stick w/ the pfluger.

I've always tooted the Pflueger horn, great reels at a tremedous value, what I'm all about.

But after reading about the above reel,.......has Pflueger met it's match?  Fresh/salt-$40-very niiiiiice.  If I still used spinning gear, I'd definitely try this next.

apparrently it isnt a aluminum frame just reenforced,  but u wouldnt know it. i use mine for trout and red fishing with the spare spool and drop shotting and light plastics with  the ported spool and i dont know what i would do without it.

ive caught 25+ inch reds on it with no flex or problems in anyway.  the spare spool that i use in salt water HAS started to corrode a tiny bit... but ive had it now for 2 years. the reel shows little to no signns of wear or corrosion and feels like i took it out of the box yesterday.

i know pflugers are good too.....*shrug*.  just like my quantum.

Pure fishing was not the parent of Shakespeare before Jarden bought K2 Corp which owned Shakespeare. Then Jarden bought Pure Fishing and put all fishing related businesses they owned under the Pure Fishing umbrella.

Thanks for putting the right configuration up. it gets confusing sometime. I am concerned that eventually there will be just 2 or 3 super companies making it all!

Yes I like Pflueger reels. Great reels, great price. I was using a Pflueger baitcaster/All Star rod combo  on my most successful day of fishing to date. I landed over 50 smallmouth bass that day. Pflueger will always have a place in my heart for that.

I also like Daiwa and Shimano not that you were asking that
