Best rod for under $150

Featured Replies

I recently broke my favorite baitcasting rod, a bass pro extreme, and need to get a new one before my 2 day tournament on lake st. claire next weekend. My spending limit is under $150, and i want to know what is the best rod for the money

If I were you I would look at the Shimano line. Good rods and lifetime warranty. Hard to beat at that price.

I've got three Crucials and one Carrot Stix.  For $150 either one is hard to beat.

Shimano Crucial gets my vote here. Light, sensitive and you can't beat the over-the-counter warranty!!!

Carrot, Avid, and Crucial in that order.

For 90 bucks you can get a St Croix Mojo Bass and you'll have some dollars to spare for line and lures.

;)

i have a newer bps extreme and now use it for the light weight flukes, jigs and jerks. but i also did buy a shim crucial and man thats a sweet rod. what do you plan on using it for?

There is no "best."  There are only opinions on what an individual considers to be the best.

Powell gets my vote for UNDER $150.  It's a toss up with the Crucials on some particular models though, but they retail a bit over the $150 mark...
