G-Loomis Senko rods. Anybody?

Featured Replies

I fish a lot of weightless Flukes and was considering this rod.  Does anyone have or used this rod?  I'm looking at the BCR893.

I think it would be way to long for me to throw flukes with. IMO

The BCR893 is an unbelievable rod, but I have only used it for senkos. I use the BSR852 for all my Fluke needs.

LOL, I'm just the opposite.  I use baitcasting for my flukes and spinning for my senkos.

It is a fantastic rod one of the best ones in the jig and worm line up, works good for almost anything. I have not used it much for senkos, but use it alot for t rigs, lighter jigs, Stanley Ribbits, etc. If you buy the rod I have a feeling you will find more uses than just senko's.

I have the 864 and love it.  I'm sure the 893 is great as well.

I have had this rod since Christmas last year and it is OUTSTANDING!!!  It is very light and incredibly sensitive. I use it for senkos , T-rig, shakey head, and drop shot. It is my favorite rod.

You will not be dissapointed.

I have used the Senko rod for 3 years now and when it wears out I will buy the exact same rod to replace it.  I use this rod for senkos and only senkos.

I would not use this rod for flukes.  Any jerkbait, but specifically a fluke type bait is best presented with a spinning rod in my opinion.  You just cant get the action a fluke requires with this long of a rod and the mechanics of retrieving a baitcaster.

Now, for senkos - you pair this rod up with a chronarch mg50 and you are in business.  There is no better combination.  I pitch my senkos for accurate casts and quiet entry and this combo makes it flawless.

Good rod but fluke = wrong presentation in my humble opinion.

I'm holding out for the Kinami Flash edition. Sorry.

I'm surprised to see so much love for the 893.  It's been my favorite loomis for a couple of years now,  but it doesn't get mentioned very often.  It is the perfect pitchin' stick.

Redlinerobert pointed this rod out a couple of years ago. I am

surprised it doesn't get more play. More surprisingly, I don't have

one!

:D
