Most of my rods are Diawa and BPS. 

I've owned rods from Loomis, St Croix, Daiwa, Shimano, GBlanks, Bass Pro, and a few other rods here and there. After finding Dobyns Rods, I haven't looked back.

"Company", what kind of question is that?

I don't like any company but I do like some rods.

Its a tough choice and if I had never touched a Steez rod it would be easy, G.Loomis GLX hands down!

However I do love my Steez !!!

PS. ask me again in 2 months when I have a new NFC rod.

St. Croix ? are you serious ? I hear they make a very good rod and they are a very good company but I dont fish with a company, I fish with a rod. I'd like to put a GLX or Steez rod in the hands of every St. Croix fan for a day and then ask them what their favorite "rod" is.

That being said, I've got to try a St. Croix  and see what I am missing.

I know there are a few people like Brokeju that have fished lots of different rods and can truly pick a great rod.

It would be interesting to redo this poll and ask what your favorite rod is and what rods you have fished.

Bet I'm gonna get burned at the stake for this post.

Well, let's put this in perspective...

For jigs and soft plastics, the GLX series is

outstanding. For "moving" lures, I find the

St. Croix Avid series an excellent choice.

Although the blanks may not be quite on

par with the GLX, components, craftsmanship

and warranty are comparable at a much lower

cost.

I love my Cabelas rods and its pretty much all I have fished with a few exceptions. Looking to get myself either a Kistler or a Quantum rod for the upcoming season.

Steezy, have you ever fished a legend extreme? Very comparable to a glx imo. They are just a touch tip heavy though.

Nope, as I said before I never fished one but I might have to see what all the attention is about. It looks like a nice rod, is lightweight, certainly not cheap and everyone says they have a great warranty. I'm not a big fan of their cork split grip style. I like either the Steez air foam or the full loomis cork.

Do they fish any "better" than a Steez or a GLX ?

Whats the difference between a St Croix LegendXtreme and a Legend Elite ?

The LegendXtreme is only $50 more, so what more do I get ?

Legend Elite has full cork and Fuji SiC guides

Legend Extreme is a split grip with ReCoil guides.

I believe they are made on the same blanks

No real problems with Quantum rods though I don't care for their reels

And Shakespeare Ugly Stiks of all types....yes these have their place, it's not for finesse bass fishing, I really don't care for them bass fishing at all, but for catfishing, carp, stripers, whitebass and hybrids, and even salt water species, these are just tough and hold up well.

Outside of these, never used any other brands.

Might sound odd now ive fished st.Cr. G loomis but my favs have been abu garcia procastor and abu harold ensley oh and most recent abu colonlen.

I'll stick with my shimano v rods>>>

As of right now its falcon, only because that's all I've really used. Looking to give you a few others a try this season though

pure fishing:I first began using Berkley Lightnig rods and I then used the Tactix rods and now the Vendetta.I know these are not very high end but they suit my style as well as my wallet.It lets my bait monkey get more tackle and stuff.
