Is this stuff any good?  They have it on sale and I was about to order some.  The reviews are totally divided though.  There's some guys who say they swear by it.  Others say it's the worst line ever since it's made in China.  What do y'all think? 

If you change line real often then it is OK.  If you want longevity go with something else.  I used it for tournament fishing for many years because of the cost.  I respooled every tournament and if it was a 2 or 3 day tournament I respooled every day.

I know that these are all good lines.  I just wanted to know what you thought of Excel Monofilament

I've been using Excel nearly exclusively for all my mono applications on spinning and BC gear for a year now (although I still am using 4lb Stren for ultralight spinning). All my lakes are open water, with few rocks, so my fishing environment is pretty benign on the line.

Not much memory, seems like it has good knot strength, and when on sale is a great value. I've used 6, 8, 10, 12, and 17lb test Excel. I change line once a season; more frequently for my highest usage rigs.

There are probably better monos at higher price points, but for my applications, I think Excel is a great cost vs. performance value.

I fished it for a few years, it's not the worst line ever but it's not the best either.  I have 12lb blue line spooled on a couple extra spinning reel spools and a baitcaster or two for when I go night fishing with my dad.  It's really strong line, never had a problem with unnecessary break offs.  It is a little on the stuff side and the managability is pretty low but it's well worth the price, especially when on sale.  I bought a 1lb spool of the blue for $5 a few years ago and still use it.  Not a bad line at a great price when on sale.  I'd say pick some up, if you dont like it change, never hurts to try.

My father and I have used for 15 years or more. mostly 6, 8, 10 lbs.  We like it, it's cheap has good knot strength, and seems ver tough.

It is stretchy though.

We actually can pull a 19FT Ranger with 8 lb.

I've used it.  Decent line.  No real complaints other than it's not a line you'll get a half season or more out of.  The bulk spool prices are cheap so it's affordable to change often.

I used the 6lb on my dropshot rod last year. It is not a bad line, but I found after a couple of fishing trips that I would have to peel 10-30 feet of the line off and get rid of it as it would stretch out and even make a different sound going through the guides. Then I would tie my leader back on and be okay for a while again.

I put 12lb on my baitcaster and hated it so that only lasted about 1 fishing trip.  It is used for backing material only now.

I am using it for the first time this year and am really glad that I bought it.  I bout over 7000 yards of it a few weeks back, and it was worth the $10.  I use it for everything.  But, I do change line quite often, so I could not tell you about how long it lasts.  I just know that I really like it, some of the best I have used.

It's a good value , I have used it and liked it . Like posted before it's cheap so you can respool often.
