I managed to grab the BPS Xtreme MHF spinning on clearance for $60.  If you can find one it's the way to go...

Got two of 'em. Last one bought was a 6'6" MH. It's a fine rod. No, it's not a St.Croix or Loomis (or even a Compre), but at $50, it works. Sensitivity is decent, I use it for craws, lizards and lipless cranks. Again, it was $50 and for that amount, they're fine. :)

The St. Croix Triumph falls within your price range as does the Shimano Clarus, and I believe either of them would be a better choice.

The Bionic Blade isn't a horrible rod, though. My brother in law has been using them for quite a while now and seems to do fairly well in his local tournaments. He uses braid which helps make up for the rod's lack of sensitivity.

I find the Bionic Blade is servicible for some techniques in the baitcast set up but I hated it in the spinning rod.  It was too heavy and lacked the sensitivity I like for spinning.

I have several of the Fenwick GT's at about the same price but much better IMHO.  I have the older model, they have a "new improved" model for this year but I don't know how it is.

I use a 6'6" MH Bionic Blade spinning rod for Senkos with 20# Power Pro braid. Never had a problem after catching a couple hundred bass. Very good rod for the money.

Wait for the BPS Extreme rods to go on sale for $60

At my store they are on sale for $59 I think. Not sure if is a good rod or not but I bought myself the Browning Citori for $47.86 on clearance. It has been marked down from $99.99 to $79.97 with 40% off. The carbonlite is post to be on sale too. My store had only 3 left.

I have 2 of the 7 ft MH 2 piece rods and tehy are just fine, especially at that  price point.  Mine have lenty of bass and a few nice pike and stripers to their credit and have performed very well.  Are they a little heavy? Yes, but with the balancing kit that's not a huge deal.  I like their taper as it's stiff enough formost plastics, but also soft enough to work shallower cranks with.

I also have the 7' MH 2 piece. Not great, but at 50 bucks, its a decent rod.

Ditto, I have a 7' medium action which has all the backbone you will need. I've pulled big bass (4-5lbs) out of the pads with this rod and 20# braid.

I think you'll find the med/heavy too stiff. Just my 2 cents.
