Looks like a 842

It's the 852 you sold me! Still got it and still love it! It's my midweight plastics and jig rod so it gets a ton of use.

I was thinking it was a 842, lol

I picked up a used 895 the other day.

First megabass rod came in today. The x7 Super Eiger. Put on my core 51 with yumeya spool. 8lb cxx. What a versatile rod, threw pop-xs, 3/8oz walkers and jerkbaits. 4 inch senkos, 1/16oz shakeyheads and flickshakes. Pretty much threw all my goto baits. Extremely sensitive and well built rod. Needs a slightly heavier reel to balance a bit better. Think I'll be pairing it with a zonda in the near future.

I'd rank it right up there with my poison glorious but slightly behind the ultima. Nothing has matched that rod yet in my hands atleast...

I'll definitely be adding more megabass rods to the arsenal.

You've been going off on rods lately dude!

I don't think you will get better balance from having heavier reel. Megabass rods that I have experienced and seen typically balances at front of the handle lock (Did hear it balances better with the new torzite guide ones).  I love the X7 blank, since it gives a very crisp taper and strong back bone :) Beautiful combo!

Got my new Alphas SV! Put it on my 6'9 Major Craft Corzza medium - regular fast. Should be great for shallow cranks.

Quick note - NO bearings in the handle, 4 bushings. Fixed that right quick and added a 90 mm carbon handle.

How do you like the CXX line? I tried 12 lb CXX and it's terrible, even the line conditioner doesnt help. Most of my BFS reels have 6 lb hybrid but I would like to try something new.

Hey cheng, 8lb cxx is the heaviest I use except 17lb for small swimbaits. The 8lb is great for all the 1/4-3/8oz baits I was throwing. Was a little heavy for the shakeyheads and flickshakes, actually prefer 6lb, 6lb hybrid, or 8lb floroclear. I fish hybrid and cxx all the time, I'd say hybrid is just slightly more manageable.

Switched the knobs out on the Curado 50 and like these much better

What handle is that?

Picked these up within the last few days. Plans for a few others I don't have.

Nice. Where did you score than zillion 100HLA from? I've been looking for one the past 2 weeks with no luck lol. May just settle for a tatula.

@thehooligan I really like the hook keeper on that rod. The whole combo looks amazing!!

Thanks, a lot of purple bits on there, lol.

Considering a megabass/daiwa reel for the rod but I just like my shimanos sooo much more...
