Yea my boat has been parked for a bit, got wrapped up in chasing hogs and now we are just over 2 months from hunting season, so probably not going to hit the water again till Jan or Feb.

I’ve been to busy catching these dumb red fish.

Yes I know. I live on the lake.

 

Best time to fish is on a current caused by a dropping water level.

The fishing on Toledo is getting tough.  The fish are suspended chasing bait so it’s hard to stay on top of them.  We are still catching a few good fish, but numbers are down.  On Rayburn we are catching good numbers. 50-100 fish a day is still pretty normal for us over there.

It's been so dang hot you can only fish a couple hours before heat stroke sets in. 

Looking forward to the cool down into the 90's.

I can’t say much, been busy at work! They say the oilfield is down, but not according to my bank account lol! Hoping to get back on the Bend and Rayburn in the next couple of weeks finally. Looking forward to Bass_Fanatics class coming up this week. Hope to meet some of you guys there ??

Things seem to be getting quiet on here, hope you guys haven’t given up fishing lol! I went to bass_fanatics electronics seminar. Absolutely awesome and definitely worth the trip! If you ever get the chance to go, take it!!

As for a report, the bite was really good the last week.  Numbers shot up to about 30-35 fish a day and some really nice fish mixed in.  Big crankbaits and a big worm did most of the damage for us in 18’.

Is TB still located on the La/Tx border? It just as soon float over to the Tx/NM border. At least then I could have a logical reason for not going to it. Hopefully I can make it over soon to see if I remember what I learned last year. Gonna take this opportunity to thank all you guys that put forth an effort to teach the rest of us how to fish structure instead of just bank beating.

Rayburn has been better all year, but they are still swimming in Toledo ?

Im just glad to see a few schools again.  It got really tough in June and July

Everyone is aware how hard the lake is fishing right now. But we all hear of "those guys" that are on the fish.

 

I recently had a discussion with a couple of those guys that are averaging 20-25 fish a night, with solid 15#+ sacks. At first I got the routine 18-28' structure near creek channels with obvious techniques.

 

After a little prying I got details

 

Creek channels are NOT located on the main lake. 

Locate hard spots

Look for 5-8 fish schools, easier to find than larger schools & appears to be more willing to play.

 

Would not divulge lures 

 

Knowing these two...throw a Jig-n-Craw ?

Got word I have a tournament on toledo wind February 28th. Catt didn’t you say there is a site with tournament results and write ups on winning patterns some where on the interweb?
