    I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

Thanks.

You talking about creeks? Or offshore drains?
I gotta find my hook & line map and do some studying.
We launch at Bay Bridge.... Plenty of options for me there.

Both, but main lake drains can be REALLY good if you find one full of Shad!

I contacted the board operator.
They said there is no print function.   (must have been left off the latest software update, because i read that there used to be one)  ?

I ran the back end of a couple of boards not too much unlike this one..... There are so many switches to turn on/off..... it is crazy.

Maybe they really don't know it exists.

You won’t see a Shad spawn in October.  It takes place is May.  In October expect the fish to be running large groups of Shad into drains and gorging in them.  It’s a great time to be on the lake.

No way. We all know they move to Rayburn for the winter lol.

But seriously love me some pre coldfront topwater action.

@Bass_Fanatic you fishing the open on Rayburn?

I wish I was, but unfortunately I’m not.  My guess is 19lbs a day wins and 13.5lbs gets paid.  The winner will more than likely have to be versatile and catch fish shallow and deep.

Well dang was going to be pulling for you.

ended up going to Kurth lake yesterday for anyone wanting to fish something a little different and smaller while the open is on Rayburn or you just need a change up from Toledo.  Caught quite a few in the 3-5 pound range fishing deeper grass edges.

I hardly every tournament fish anymore.  I pretty much only guide now.  But I appreciate the support .

ive never been to Kurth, but I’ve heard lots about it.  I know I miss that green grass on Toledo!

Last I looked there were 223 signed up and 104 anglers are from Texas.  Lot's of hammers in that field for sure.

Texas=104 47%

OK=25 12%

LA=21 10%

So 68% of the field are from the 3 adjoining states

Nope SRA drained it and paved it over for parking and installed the largest drive in movie screen so we can watch the country burn down live lol

I heard that some boat lane markers got moved around.

Anyone got intel?

Coming up there 10/24 - 10/26

What do you mean moved around?

They do shift when the water levels go up and down. And I'm sure the hurricane straight blew some out of position or simple got broke off.

Heck San miguel was missing so many already, it was hard to know where some of the turns were at and that was before the hurricane.

From what I’ve seen, the LA buoys are in decent shape.  They’ve even put new boat lanes up the past month that weren’t previously there.  Texas buoys are moves around some and a few are missing still.

The fishing is getting better every week right now.  Schools are starting to show back up and fish are chasing Shad.  This next month or two should be a lot of fun.

OK. Being in decent shape is good. Especially for people who don't visit often. I didn't really think about them moving under normal conditions. Maybe the report I got was an over reaction.

Hoping to get in a little pre-fishing 10/23

Going to look at some creeks and then go try to find some humps.

thanks

I'm a long time reader.  Was at Toledo last week. water looked great from mid lake down,  caught a few each morning and late evening.  10 in worm and chug bug.

Question is,  how close is lake to turn over, I understand thus may be tuff to answer, with current weather conditions,  is there anyway to quess how for away turnover may occur ? as I'm going back after 1st of month and I'm concerned Of getting their in middle of turnover and conditions will be horrible.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thank Y'all in advance.

The water temp dropped to 76 yesterday so I’d say it’s going to happen really soon.

As for fishing, if you like to eat spotted bass, yesterday was the day to be out there. The spots took over everything I stopped on.  Between my morning and afternoon, we probably caught 60 of them.  We caught a few largemouths mixed in, but not many. Couldn’t keep the bait away from spots.  The good news is we didn’t have to finesse fish to get bit.  They were eating a 10xd, Bama rig, and football jig.

Went today. Caught 8 had 9 bites. Biggest about 4-5 pounds rest healthy 2 pounders.

Caught in a drain with road bed, jig chatterbait and spook. Don’t ask depth or water temp I don’t have a graph or thermometer and I left my depth stick at home. It was about  a 10 count with the jig. I did have my map though.

Y’all all must be getting ready to climb a tree?

That's what I like about fall,  on weekends everybody is in the woods or watching football while I'm kicking bass!

Most definitely Wednesday I went to naconiche and only had 3 boats out on the water with me all day and Thursday Toledo I may have seen a hand full.
