Hit my honey hole tonight, and pulled out a monster 7lb 15oz. Love this fall action right now, the bite is on like donkey kong.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Looks like me and Retro are going to Lacygne tomorrow. Anyone else going to head out that way?

Hit up LaCygne yesterday and caught a 7.5lb largemouth on a square bill crank bait.  Didn't get the numbers everyone else was but I was also fishing some spots I normally don't hit up.  There was a steady flow of boats hitting up the outlet and I saw 2 boats anchored down to the northeast of the plant.

Water temp ranged from 67-70 degrees in most places.

I will be in NAWLINS all weekend making my liver quiver :)

Tenn Shad color? Nice job!!

Headed to la cygne tomorrow as well. Probably wont be out there till sometime after 11, because I've got some kind of early morning birthday brunch to goto. That's ok with me too, because it's gonna be very nippy in the morning.

We'll have to see what the fish are doing this week. Changes every dang day...

Well I guess I will try and hit LaCygne tomorrow morning with everyone and their grandma. Way to go LV on the 7.5. I've hit a few new areas last time but have tons left to explore. I will one day figure that place out a little better. I think you have to hit unpressured areas bc everyone hammers the same spots.

I've perhaps found one spot that is a little off the beaten path that produced last time. Not a ton to show for it however, just a few dinks. Fishing the rip rap last week resulted in a zero.

Well Chris and I's big adventure to the pits was not nearly as successful as we'd hoped. I think it's still just too early for them to be settled into a fall pattern. The water at the trout pit was pretty cloudy, still clear but not what it normally is. I caught a couple on a 1/2oz brush jig, several on 78 pointer, and I got this guy to eat my 8" Hudd.

Caught it on the fall and just started to run with it like I was fishing a weightless Senko or something. Not nearly the fish we were hoping for but it was cool to catch one on that big bait. I still think my scale is off, it was between 19 and 20 inches and only went 3.88lbs.

Next pit we went to normally produces several 3-5 pounders, you could have almost walked across the shad they were so thick. I caught 2 super fat fish that were probably only 16 inches long but 2 3/4 pounds on spinnerbaits. Last pit was a dinkfest on wacky rigs, nothing much over a pound though.

We opted to head to Lake Ft. Scott Thursday morning. It was tough, after a couple hours we'd only caught 6-8 that were smaller than average for out there minus one nice spot that I caught on a shakyhead. We decided to try Elm Creek, I'd like to have that hour and half of my life back. After swearing to never return to that lake we went to Bourban State Lake. It was slow for out there but we still probably put 30 in the boat in the 3 hours we had left once we figured them out. They were mostly a little bit bigger than normal for that lake too so that was nice.

Me and Retro got out for a few hours today. Nothing huge but we had a good time.

I was there too...

It sucked.

Anybody fished Melvern recently?  Wondering if the smallmouth are hitting.

I'll be there Thursday unless the wind is terrible. The smallmouth are always biting there, just depends how you want to catch them.

That's when I was thinking of going.

That's when I was thinking of going.

Well I'll probably be out there with basshunter0731 and Scrogg is trying to make it work too. Between all of us we ought to be able to catch a fish  :laugh5:

Looks like I need to go to Melvern on Thursday.

What ramp is everyone using. I normally use the marina ramp

Now, I'm thinking about taking the day off.  What time are you guys heading out there?

Well, Im running low on vacation time. But Im going to try and swing this..... Razor Clam Classic Jr.

Alright, I'm in and will be there by 8:30.  May have a spot on the back if somebody is interested.  Somebody pick a ramp.  I'm familiar with the marina one, but wouldn't mind using the state ramp since it would be free.

Now you all have got me thinking about paying for an extra day of daycare.....
