For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports

Featured Replies

Not much not to like about Stockton. Big largemouth, big smallies and some nice walleye to boot.

just watch those winds when you're navigating the north end up near the dam.  It can feel an awful lot like Kansas in that area!

Its just like any Ozark lake - pray you're fishing in a cold front or snow and you'll cave their heads in!!!

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Had another good day on Wolf today/yesterday/Friday, whatever you want to call it at 1am.

Does anyone here fish any Smithville lake tournaments? There are the Burtons tackle thursday night and weekend tournaments along with the Smithville bassmasters tournaments. I'm wanting to get into the scene but I'm unfortunately a non boater. I hardly ever get to fish from a boat and really want the experience.

Also, if anyone in the area would like to fish just let me know. I'm 19 and wil be back from Mizzou for spring break after next week and I'm hoping to get on the water. Thanks.

Just got this picture from my mom. This is what happens when I give my old man my spots and pattern. It's a good'n too, he's stoked. Probably his biggest in a long time. Big green fish for St. Patty's Day. He also added that my mom has been the Drum queen today.

OK Boaters, my 93 SV CHIRP has come in and I am planning the install. How do you guys like to orient your screens? Can I see pics of your console screen setup? Going to pickup my boat now :) Thanks a lot!

A few from last night to show you my configuration. Just depends on what I'm doing at the time.

I fish Smithville twice a year.  Once for Corporate Challenge in May and once the week prior to pre-fish.  A BR guy and I did well last year prefishing but that lake kicks my butt more often than not.  Another buddy fished the Burtons tournaments and got smoked just about all the time.  There are some people that really know the lake in that deal.  If I need someone on the backseat for my prefishing this year I'll keep you in mind.

Neat pics. I'm going to install the 93 tomorrow. Anyone want to come help me install it?

La Cygne was slow as expected Thursday, but at least when I got one it was pretty nice. 1 fish short of a limit and a couple more shorts.

Also, who do you guys use for detailing your boats? :)

Best five with customers today at 18#. Pretty consistent pattern the past few weeks. Was giggling at all the boats in the hot water. Sounded like it was a tough day for them from the guys at the gatehouse..

Me, myself, and elbow grease.

3 years without a boat ended last night.   Can't wait to get out and fish again.

Where would you go if you had all day Monday to fish?  Thinking about Wolf Creek but wouldnt mind staying closer to KC.

83 degrees and light winds, take your pick. I'm getting the urge to try Olathe or Hillsdale.

I didn't see any but the water temp are getting close. The monster that got caught out there yesterday looked like she was about to pop.

New lake record yesterday, ounce shy of 11 pounds.

Had another good morning and was called off at 11:30 so not too bad. Just about when it had slowed down anyway. @Bluebasser86 and I have Flair and his buddies out on Wolf tomorrow.

You might want to crank the front of your boat all the way to the roller next time you load it.

Worked on the boat all weekend. Really happy with my setup. Did all the season prep stuff, installed the 93SV and built a box for the front deck.  Had just enough left over carpet. Now I need to test the 93 :)

Holy moley! What line did you have on that you were able to wrestle a bruiser that big out of brush without getting broke off?
