Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Melvern is really on for Smallies right now. A lot of 3 lbs'ers. Swimjigs and swimbaits. Fish in the wind.

I caught 39, with a 5 fish limit of 18.85, out of a lake I don't think I've ever caught 20 bass in day before, and never had a 5 fish bag over 14lbs before last week, it was nuts. I caught 13 or 14 bass out of the same laydown too, not sure I've ever done that before. I lost the 4lb brown fish I needed to put me over 20 on the day too while I was screwing around with it at boat side.

Went to Melvern today and caught around 10 bass.  All small.  Spent some time Crappie fishing and caught around 20.

I got some fish to hit the whopper plopper but could not keep one pinned for more than a second, or even hook one.

I threw one down there last time I was there on Sunday of Memorial weekend. Caught a nice 16.5" largemouth my first cast and a 15" smallmouth my second cast with it, never got another swirl. All my biggest fish ate swimbaits, either a 5" Bull Shad or a 4" Swimming Shiner.

Drove out to Wyandotte county today to try and get all of the necessary permits. Didn’t fish but the water was very clear and saw several fish hanging out in the grass around the docks. Looks like a fun little place to fish.

It's a fun lake to fish, provided you don't go out there expecting to catch a bunch of big fish (or even decent fish). You can catch largemouth and smallmouth, along with several other species in a day of fishing though, and you do have a shot at a big fish, although it's not a great chance.

I agree with @Bluebasser86. It can be fun to fish, but the fish are highly educated.

I love that lake when the weeds get thick.

It is a good lake to fish when other lakes beat you down.

I was at La Cygne yesterday. Fished hard all day for 6 fish. Nothing was over 3 pounds. Heading to WYCO, later tomorrow morning. if the rains subside. I need a little confidence booster.

Plus living 5 minutes away does not hurt anything

Olathe was pretty fun yesterday morning. Not great numbers, but better than average quality. Big fish was a 4.07. Plastics and a homemade finesse jig did most of the damage.

Anyone have access to Lake Tapawingo or know what it takes to rent/lease a lot to get fishing rights?

I don't think the fishing there is goo enough to warrant all that effort

I have (2017) info that suggests otherwise. A lot can happen in three years though.

Here’s a stupid question - can anyone inform me of WHERE the WYCO boat permit sticker is supposed to be adhered? Picture(s) would be great :))

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

in previous years I put it on the right side near the rear of the boat.

last year the deputy said they prefer it on the back.

It is easier for the marina owner to monitor when you are launching the boat.

this is where I put it this year.

Thanks Russ! I think I am going to put mine in the same place but below the top cap. Holler at me if you have an empty seat and want a net man this week. Actually, if anyone wants a net man this week, I am probably available to provide my services. :))

Alternatively we can fish in separate boats and compete for the ultimate trophy.

Anyone have a recommendation of someone/somewhere in the KC area to replace a water pump? I know its not a hard job and I could do it, but I'd rather spend that time fishing.

Everywhere I talked to about having my bearings done was 3 weeks to a month and a half out 2 weeks ago. Bass Pro, Cabela's, Frank's Marine, KC Boatworks, just that time of year that they're all slammed.

I figured such. It’s not something I need done now, but it will be time before next season.

US Boatworks (not KC Boatworks like I said), in KCK does good work and seems to be pretty competitively priced. Not in the best neighborhood but not terrible.

Frank's is in Lansing and pretty much the same deal but but in a little better location if that makes a difference for you.

I wouldn't take it to Cabela's or BPS unless I had some kind of discount or gift card I could use. Even then I've had them mess up the simplest task so I don't know if I'd trust them to do anything.

Exactly the kind of info I was looking for, thanks.

Regarding BPS/Cabelas, I have heard that from several people in multiple regions. Turns out I accumulate thousands of dollars in BPS/Cabelas CLUB points and I probably still wouldn’t take it there.
