Sam Adams Octoberfest

Featured Replies

For you dark beer lovers give this one a shot.  Right now its my favorite beer on the market.  MMM MMM.  I found a handy six in shop n save and thought it would look good in my fridge.  Well it didnt last long.  One of the best beers I've ever had.  It goes real good with some grilled brats and budweiser bbq sausce.

A fine beer, for sure.  We have it on tap at the restaurant where I bartend.  We sell a bunch of it, probably a barrel a weekend.  We've also been doing well with the Blue Moon Harvest ale, but it's a pain in the butt for a bartender since its supposed to have a cinnamon-sugar rim.  Unfortunately, they've stopped making it and all the distributors around here are out.  As a replacement, we're now serving Post Road Pumpkin Ale.  Pretty darned good in itself, and it comes from an excellent brewery, Brooklyn Brewery (who also make one of the most amazing Dark Chocolate Stouts I've ever had!).  Becks makes an excellent Oktoberfest, as well as Wachusett, though I don't know if that one is getting any distrubution of if its limited to the Northeast.

I've yet to try a single variety of Sam Adams that I like.  I tried the Oktoberfest a couple of years ago, ended up throwing half the six pack away.

For stout, it begins and ends with Guinness.

Sam Adams Honey Porter is hard to beat.

I just got done with the Summer Sampler....I think I might be in love with Sammy's Hefe.

Good stuff right there too!!!!

There is some new stuff coming into Dallas, TX from Austin, TX that I believe is called FireStation or Firehouse I cant remember.  My roommate says its really good.  But it is hard to find.  Stores will order it for you if you ask though.

I haven't tried this one yet, But I really like their summer ale. I know, Its pretty light but still very good.

Im not a huge beer drinker but I went to a Micro brewery event this weekend and tried some very good beer.

I just bought a six pack of the Octoberfest last Saturday. It's really delicious.

In the bottle this stuff is OK but off the tap it is fantastic.  By far one of favorite beers to drink when I'm eating a big o steak.   I also like their summer ale and winter lager.  For a dark beer you have to try their Black Lager.

My uncle always says he REALLY likes OP's.  I said "OP's?"  He said "Yeah, other peoples!"

I agree!!! Out of all the Sam Adams, Octoberfest is my favorite.  I also enjoy their honey and cherry as well..........Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

cherry wheat was my favorite for the longest time...maybe i'll try this octoberfest beer this weekend..

Octoberfest is very good, so is the winter ale.  One beer I was very dissappointed in was the Leine's Summer Shanty...I spat out the first drink and got another draft for free.

I picked up a six pack of Octoberfest and drank the first one last night.  I wasn't really impressed.  It was a lot less malty than I had hoped.

One thing that I did notice was that about 30 minutes after drinking it I got a headache.  It may have just been a coincidence, but some beers give me unbelievable headaches.  I'll do a scientific test tonight and see if it happens again.

You should try Saxo then. It's a Belgian Ale that you can find at a wine or spirits store. Delicious.

Tell you what I really like - Tilburg's Dutch Brown Ale

I concur.  The cherry as good too.

The Christmas Brew is pretty good as well.  Anyone fond of Newcastle?  I enjoy it, I just don't enjoy the price.

I love Newcastle.  It is what got me interested in really malty beers.

I'm never buying octoberfest again....somehow i paid $9 for a 6 pack....that's a rip off i tell ya!

The beer itself is pretty good...but not $9 good....

Just bought a case today for 28.68, not to bad. The first 10 beers tasted pretty good ;D

The one, and only IMO, downside to drinking good beer is that it is expensive.  On the other hand, better beers usually have a higher alcohol content so it won't take you as many to get buzzed...
