seinfeld, home improvement

cosby show, and honeymooners

Wow - no votes for "I love Lucy"

Ok. let me be the first.  So much of what you see done in sitcoms today was pioneered by lucy, desi and the Mertz's.

LUCY>>>>>>>>>>>>I"M HOME  :)

YOU GOT SOME 'SPLAININ' TO DO ;D ;D ;D

The old ones were the best in my opinion.

All in the family

Sanford and Son

Chico and the Man

Mash

Hogans Heroes

but Honeymooners has to be the all time best.

Only sitcom I watch now is Seinfeld reruns.

seinfeld

wonder years

honeymooners

sanford and son

all in the family

and the mose underrated show ever was the one Phil Hartman was in.  It was about a radio station.  Can't even remember the name now but hilarious.

The most watched sitcom ever was M*A*S*H, Number of Viewers (in millions) 105.9, this is higher than any Super Bowl.

The M*A*S*H series finale: "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was the most watch with a total number of households 50.15 million.

The Office ;D ;)

OLD:M*A*S*H  I have seen every single episode of this show.  I absolutely love it. However, I wouldn't call the last few years of it a comedy, it was more of a drama.

NEW:  The Office  I don't know why this show is so good...but it is.

Seinfeld and The Wonder Years.

If they made more shows like these nowadays, maybe I might watch more TV.

Sitcoms have come along ways from the ones I grew up with.

Archie and Edith take the honors,  Archie broke ground that others wouldn't even try to.

All in the Family

Mash

Lets not forget one that gave us Norm, Coach, Woody

Cheers.

The Jefferson's

I also have to give honorable mention to Mel's Diner with Flo.

Another good one was Mama's Family.

Sitcoms was the title, but I sure can think of some funny variety shows.    Carol Burnet,   Dean Martin, Flip Wilson, Roland and Martins Laugh-In.  Hee Haw.
