So Gidget and I just got back from dinner, and as I'm coming up the hill I thought,  "Oh man, there's a fire somewhere up here".  Nope.

Here's my house.

And here, directly across the street, is my neighbors house.

I think you should sneak over there and swap out his ornaments with Halloween ones and then watch his facial expression as he comes out in the morning to get the paper.. Priceless....

We have a house here in Tallahassee that is so overdone with cheap Christmas decorations that everyone I know calls it "the White Trash Christmas house."

No but I have come close.

I have seen worse.  It needs about a foot of snow to go with it and about 50,000 more lights.

At least this is not like my neighboor.  She stole a broom, snow shovel and my little light up santa.  She claimed that she thought that I was putting them out for the trash.  The santa I understand because it was old but after it snowed about 10in, she just came over, took the shovel and broom off my back porch and used it to clean her driveway.  HO, HO, HO.....

I believe you got lost in Southern West Virginia Avid.

I'm sorry, but to have that many lights you need to have at least snow on the ground.  We have people here that do it, but they arrange it a lot better than that guy did.  Kind of looks trashy if you ask me.  It looks like he went and bought up Wal-Mart's Christmas yard ornaments, and decided to just throw them out there in random order.   ;D

Pellet guns at 2 a.m. will do the trick.   ;D ;D

Leave the guy alone his wife probably nagged him to do it

A want to be Clark Griswald from Christmas Vacation. ;)

i cant understand why everyone is talking chit on the guy..i see rpberts complaint cause he lives across the street, but why is everyone else bashing him...in a society where they are trying to take away things such as saying merry christmas, among other things, i think its cool that someone decides to go all out with the decorations during the holidays..even if there aint no snow on the ground who cares, unless your paying his utility bills i dont see why it bothers some of you how he decorates his place.and robert im not aiming this toward you because you live there and have to see it daily but the rest of us dont and i for one applaud the guy for doing what he wants to do during the holidays, cause you never know when its your last one. :)

DANG Cajun1977, I'd have to agree with ya again.

I think there's So much negative uncaring get out of my way or else attitudes

It could be a promise to a love one from the guy on why he does it.

I think its cool-I do it, so does some of the nieghbors :)

As Tina Turner would say "Whats snow got to do, Got to do with it"

I love Christmas lights...My mom used to go all out. You'd think somehow that Jesus being born again right in her front yard.It was awesome, really reminded you what Christmas was all about.

Me...i'm too lazy to put em' up and my bills are already high enough on heat and electrical i probably wouldn't be able to afford it right now.

I want to however go through this one area where all the houses in some upper class neighborhood decorate the entire area.Takes about 1-2 hours to go through.

You're right buddy.  John, my neighbor, is a good guy.  I may end up doing the same thing when get old.  :)  I can't imagine what his utility bill is though.  :-?

When I got married my wife came with several large boxes of christmas lights. Enough to signal spacecraft. But I told her it wold be a snowy Christmas in Georgia before they got put up. She still asks me every year and I still say no.

I know how your wife feels :-/  but maybe she should do what I did, compromise  ;D  I got MY christmas tree but instead of lights it has Lures  ;) now we are both happy looking at it....

Some good points all around. I'm not sure the picture did justice as I didn't think it looked that bad ( this from a guy (me) with no lights up).

The only thing I don't like are those stupid blow up things though. They just have " Clark Griswold " written all over them.! LOL Particular thorn because my only "trash quality" neighbor is the only one that has put one up. You get tired of hearing the darn fan running all of the time. I almost did the pellet gun trick! I was tempted!

Keep in mind when we were young you just worshipped those houses that had the ton of lights. So in a way it is about the kids.

It's all about the kids for them.  You should see the cars that come by and park just to look.  Oh and I didnt take a picture of the other side of the house....
