Need a favor

Recommended Posts

My wife, Keri, has decided to fish one WBT tournament this year to see if this is something she wants to persue. The tournament is on Clarks Hill lake in Georgia on Sept. 14th - 20th (including pre-fishing time). She wants to fish it as a boater to maximize her chances of doing well. She'll be representing BassResource.com.

Here's the deal: We live on the left side of the U.S., making it infeasible to drive our boat there. I am asking if anyone would be willing to loan us their boat for this tournament. I realize this is a huge ask, so I'm not taking this lightly at all.

We own an '03 Ranger Commanche 520dvx w/225 Yamaha HDPI - and she can drive it just fine. Hoping to find something similar. We're required to have $300,000 insurance per WBT rules, so your boat is covered in the unlikelyhood something happens.

Please PM me if you're interested and we'll talk.

Thanks!

Glenn

I'll lend you frogtog's boat. ;)

LMAO...I hear he has a bunch of spare props from the classic too!!

Seeing as how you're gonna be in Flukes backyard, have you spoken to him?  He's got a big posse too.

She's not giving up the club thing is she?  That would be a drag if you didn't have her in the boat to carry you  ;D

CATCH 'EM UP KERI!!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!  :D

No, she's not giving up on the club thing.  This is more of an experiment to see if this is something she wants to pursue.

Well, good luck to you Glenn. I look forward to meeting both you and your wife on the trip.

Based on what I have seen here with members' generosity, I have no doubt that someone will be along very shortly to fulfill your request.

Tell your wife "Good Luck" in her endeavors!!

Hmmm..... no replies on this yet.  Maybe it was asking too much.

You could contact a Ranger dealership in the area and swap a boat for a few days for some free advertising on BR.

Fluke & I  have spoke about it.  We might be able to work something out, but there's several things that need to happen between now and then.

Guest Steve_P.

You're asking for trouble in my opinion. Generosity is one thing, but totaling out someone's$30,000 to $50,000 rig through some freak accident is inviting major problems on your behalf. I'd be SURE and find out who's insurance covers what before I did it.

An "internet friend" will turn into your worst enemy if something happens. Good luck.

Unless $50,000 grows on my dogwood tree this year I will still be fishing out of my Triton Aluminum with a 90hp. That just won't cut it.

I have always wondered why tournament fisherman keep running back and forth, up and down the river at 70+ mph. I didn't know fish could swim that fast!

Hey! They're over there!

:D

All about maximizing your time on the water.  Hard to do on a lake like Clarks Hill when everyone else is leaving you setting.

Got to have those big fast boats. Time and conditions are your biggest enemies .

Oh!

My partner used to fish tournaments.

He told me the big fish were chasing

them and the guys needed fast boats

to get away.

 8-)

Man I wish I could help out. I've got a tournament Sept. 20. Plus I'm over 8 hours away.

I would guess you're needing an answer soon? Is there a deadline on the entry? How close does someone need to be?

Hi Glen,

If you do not get anything closer you and your wife are welcome to my boat. I have a Stratos 285 which is 18.5 feet long with a Johnson 150. Loaded light I have had her running close to 70mph. You can reasonably expect somewhere in the upper 50s loaded for a big day. She is in perfect condition and always in the water or the shed. She has an Eagle 502c (color) at the Console which has the navionics gold lake/topo chip in it so it has sonar plus the GPS/lake map. She also has an Eagle 480 at the bow. New batteries and a powerful trolling motor. Single console. She is metalflake green (my wife named her Sparkles), new tires and bearings on the trailer-- READY TO GO!!

Let me know what arrangements need to be made and if you need it, you have it!

Keep in touch

Kevin
