how about a chia pet, the stores are loaded with them this time of year

You know, the Chia Pet thing hasn't reached its zenith, yet.  I can think of many more fur or hair bearing "things" that would really be cool sculped in terracotta.   :P

This may seem a little lame, but I have several plants I enjoy watching and taking care of in my apartment. There are some that grow extremely fast that are fun to watch.

My sister had a hamster in hers. Its impossible to kill, and they take it out and play with it a lot.

NO PETS you don't have time to take care of them properly.

I am just curious to how you know my day to day schedule. I said something that doesn't need a whole lot of attention such as a sugar glider (need to spend 3+ hours a day plus night feeding), but as for something like a reptile I have plenty of time. Thanks for your voicing your concern though frogtog.

I will second Micro's suggestion. I was given a corn snake by a friend as a gift. I was never really into snakes but they are really cool and very docile. Very little attention is needed and it is cool to watch them eat.

You could always go with some sort of turtle. If I were in your situation though I'd definitely go with a snake.

Get a Worm Farm.... I heard they are total babe magnets!!!!  ::)

We had anoles, let them run around free in the apartment, they ate the cockroaches. God I can't believe I used to live like that.

I once had a-holes for neighbors.  They ran around freely in their apartment too. ;D

Stuffed animal, take your pick!

:D

What would be a good pet for a college apartment. Something that doesnt need a huge amount of attention, but yet you can still interact with.

A Perfect Women ;D

He distinctly said "Something that doesnt need a huge amount of attention."

Most cats thrive on benign indifference.  All you have to do is give them fresh water and a bowl of Meow Mix every day and clean the litter box every once in a while.  I recommmend no less than every two months.

Exactly!!!! The Perfect Women is one who you don't have to give a huge amount of attention to, but yet you can still interact with when needed ;D.... Get it ;).

I'm suprised no one said fish.

Not much maitenance, cheap, relaxing to watch. My Boss lady enjoys watching the fish swim around. Very peaceful and relaxing. She even named them all.
