Legal extortion or advocate?

Couldn't get the video to roll, but the way it reads, he doesn't report them, he just files suit.  Lame.

I consider this guy on the same level as the ones sitting at home drawing a disability check and nothing is wrong with them.  He wants you to feel sorry for him when he says he can't reach the items, even though it clearly shows him not really trying.  Legal extortion!!! >:(

It's guys like this that make the Americans With Disabilities Act a real pain.

Wasn't he the one that is effectively barred from filing any new lawsuits?  I read something about a person just like this in CA that now can not file another lawsuit.

Looked it up and that was a different guy.

It's extortion.

If was taking his settlement $$$ and putting it to use, like providing wheelchairs or other equipment to disabled needy, or campaigning for better facilities, then I might let him slide.  But the fact that he was "traveling abroad" and could not be reached for comment tells the story.  That is a euphemism for "working vacation," meaning he having fun in Europe, looking for new places to sue.  What a slug.

Extortion.  He doesn't care about making things handicap accessible, he cares about lining his pockets.

What a low-life. Hopefully CA will recognize the situation and change the laws so that business owners have a chance to fix the problem before they get fleeced by this bum.

Typical piece of dukie.  But then again he is no diferent than a few major corporations and health care providers that rip you and I off.

IMO you should have the chance to fix something if it really isnt right within a set time frame. Also he is extorting.

How do you know something is wrong before you can fix it. Look at the law makers. Exact same way. IMO nothing is wrong if you dont have a chance to fix a mistake.

People like this are the type that make me not want to help anyone in fear of reprocussions.

The ADA is one of the worst things to ever spew forth from the government.

>:(

The lawyer(s) representing him are the same type of "pond scum" he is and neither should be allowed to continue.

It's a shame that (probably) a vast majority of attorneys perform their jobs professionally and ethically while the minority are the "ambulance chasers" who discredit the entire profession.

As a mechanic I can kind of sympathise as we too don't enjoy the best reputation either.

As for Mr. Lawsuit Filer, I wonder if those disabled people who pride themselves on self reliance cringe when they see this ?

This like this are part of what is going to kill this country. We shall see how well taken care of he is when he helps bring the US down.

ADA, created with the BEST of intentions and goals. To give disabled people, who were largely being ignored, reasonable access to this world. Taken by guys like this and used as a crowbar to whack people in the shins.

Anyone ever see the show where that woman who was born without any type of legs goes about her day? Or the one with no arms who uses her feet for everything. These are people who have to take extreme hatred over folks like this. I mean i cannot imagine how much it sucks to get stuck in a wheelchair, and i hope i never have the opportunity to find out. However, suing the crap out of folks like this, just sick.
