haha i love it, Just want to get that 5 more pounds soon. But it might be awhile took almost a year of hard lifting to get to 295

What did you start at a year ago?

Our football weight program requires that you lift at least 21 hours a week. With our program you really gain strength fast. A buddy of mine was a scrawny kid his sophomore year. He is now 6' 4", 235 pounds, benching 315. He isnt scrawny any more because he used our weight program, it's awesome!

I use to be into powerlifting so I always bring this up when someone says I can bench XXXlbs.....

It doesn't matter how much you bench.  It is not a sign of true strength.  Judge your strength on deadlifts.

But 5'11''/205 295bench is pretty good.... :) :) :)

Just in case at my best, I weighed 198lb bench around 400lb and could deadlift and squat about 550lbs.  My joints are paying for it now.

My personal best bench was 385 and my best squat was 605. I also maxed at (if I remember right) about 330 pounds on power cleans.   I never did dead lift.  My numbers are a little higher but I'm also 6'5" and was about 330lbs at the time.

You better not get too big and then stop either or you'll end up with man boobs!

Sure hope you didnt tell her that! haha

Of course I did. At length  ;D

Sounds like you are right where you really want to be. Generally right now its considered a very decent level of strength to do about 1.5 times your body weight or 225lbs. I literally just reread this today. Obviously this depends on your bodyweight and how tall you are.

I'm sure some people will tell me I'm wrong but the shorter you are the easier it's gonna be to lift heavier. You will generally be moving the weight a much shorter distance because your arms are shorter. You are just built better for it. While yes a longer lever(your arms) make lifting heavy stuff easy you don't have a joint(elbow) in the middle of it.

Dad gum bunch of wimps if I couldn't do no better than that I wouldn't even try. I use to do 165 with one hand.

6'0 190lbs bench press 260.

If you guys want to see something amazing Carlos a senior in my highschool benched 500lbs and he is only 18.

It sort of looks like we helped (because I did just a very little bit) but he has it all by himself now.

ps I'm the dude on the right  :)

Wow 500# is a lot of weight but not bad with four of you lifting. ;D

Just joking that was impressive, way to go.

That's absolutely the funniest thing that I have read in a long time.  Thank you, sincerely.

Sounds like you have a good start.  That last five pounds will be very rewarding.

When I was playing center in college, I weighed 305lbs and the highest I ever put up was 415. (big arch and not a competition pause at the bottom).

Right now I am about 245 and last week my last set of three was with 335.

Go big!!!!!!!!!

80 lbs.

Did 160 twice last fall in the fieldhouse, prob. could have done more, but I generally try to avoid a prolapsed rectum if at all possible.
