I'm not going to totally give the movie down the road before I'm seen it, but...

Robotic suits of armor????  Haven't we had enough robots via Transformers?

Real Heroes?  Wasn't it Real American Heroes??

I hate to be a naysayer, but going by what I've seen thus far in the trailers and a couple of leaked clips, I'm not going to like it at all.  As usual, the studio has ruined a childhood fantasy.

My thoughts exactly, saw a preview watching tv with the wife over the weekend and said pretty much the same thing that I would reserve total judgement till I actually watch it.

My expectations aren't high. Just look at the director, Stephen Sommers. He directed crap like The Mummy and Van Helsing. This looks just terrible.

I have been thinking the same thing. I just wish they would keep it a little more like the original cartoon.

mmm, I liked those movies. I will be going to see GI Joe with my son when it comes out. It is entretainment and I don't spect to see anything like the old cartoons. Seems to be full of action, even if it is not like the old GI Joe we know.

I was excited about it at first but after seeing the trailers I have realized it is going to be one of those cheesy action movies. Where the heck did the bionic suits come from? They just made stuff up that completely deviates from the original...

Not the same, Transformers are cybernetic organisms, robotic suits of armor ---> Iron Man knockoff.  ;)

It wasn't totally a turd, but wasn't a floater either.  Didn't really stick to the comics other than the character names.

Otherwise just a cookie-cutter action flick.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty entertaining.

I was going to avoid it, but got bored Wed. night and went to the late show.  I found myself being pulled in at times, mostly due to nostalgia.

As I said, a cookie-cutter action flick.  Not mind-blowing by any stretch of the imagination.  I didn't care for the Cobra Commander/Destro/Baroness stories.  But I guess they had to throw that junk in there to pull in the un-fanboys.

There were definitely some sweet action and fight scenes. The chase through Paris was ridiculously absurd but still pretty fun to watch. I also enjoyed the "knowing is half the battle" line...

That movie had the hottest female vampires in all of vampire nation.

saw it today.. was basically all I expected.. A action packed fun summer film. I went in there with the mentality of watching a fun film.. Not getting blown away with it by any means.
