Single Again

Featured Replies

Well me and my GF of 3 yrs broke it off recently.  Guess it's time to focus on my true love... Fishin'!  I met a local pro at the dock about a year ago, he told me if I really wanted to live the dream lose the woman if she's not 100% supportive!  Maybe he's right.  Only time will tell.  Atleast, I've got BR to help me out.

If you think one of us is going to sleep with you, you're sadly mistaken.

;D

Living in Tennessee, you should come down to the roadtrip next May at Pickwick.  Plenty of support there courtesy Long Mike:

BTW, Burley will be there.  You look just his type.   ;)

Next years roadtrip has crossed my mind.  I've never seen a man chugging boxed wine straight from the tap.... Only my sister or my ex!

Was in your same boat.  The G/F despised anything to do with fishing.  Out spite once, she threw all of my fishing gear on the patio in the rain after a fight.... It's not worth it.  You did the right thing.

It's plain and simple, you need someone who can accept your hobbies and what you love to do... what makes you happy.  My fishing life was better after the fact.  Good luck and fish hard!!!   ;)

A good relationship doesn't come easy and you always have to work on it.  In a partnership it's not all about you, it's also about her as well and meeting her half way is a must.  If you are not prepared to give her as much time and interest as you take, stay single, you aren't ready for a relationship.

I'd take the relationship over fishing anytime.

Ill take the fishing.

A wise man once wrote

"Love is like a roadrunner cartoon, you never fall till you look down."

You should pull a "Grumpy Old Men" move on your ex.  If she hated your fishing so much let her have a dink in her car under the seat.  After a few days she'll notice

Haha good one... Heck find a girl thats interested in fishing as much as you. They are out there. My gf goes fishing with me all the time and even when I don't mention anything shes always asking you want to go fishing. Nice thing too is when we are fishing 90% of the time from shore she will go off on her own and do her own thing that way I can relax and concentrate on fishing rather then helping her out constantly.

you just have to find a gal who loves fishing!  before i started dating my boyfriend, i had never fished, and had a different perspective of what it entails.  i went out with him once, just to see if i could tolerate going out with him once in awhile, since he loves it.  never did i know i would fall in love with the sport, and will even wake up at 4 am to catch the morning bite.  sometimes, girls just need a nudge from their guy to venture into unchartered waters.

:)

My wife of almost 33 years IS THE FISHERMAN (person, girl, woman, etc...) of our family. SHE had me buy the bass boat. SHE had me get her waders for Christmas. SHE specs out her own gear (good stuff too). SHE takes road trips to Cabella's. And on and on.

They are out there single guys; I doubt if I got the last one. I got the BEST one though. 33 and counting.

Fish on!

It's not that she totally hated fishing she would go with me.  She would just sit in the boat and read.  Oh well I'll stick to fishing for a while.  She even signed up on BR to check-up on me!

Ill take the fishing.

Agreed

A bad day fishing doesn't haunt you for the next year.

Amen, and Amen.

That's my gf of 2 years. She would come along and read. Sit there and get herself a tan. Last couple of outings I gave her a rod and reel and made her fish with me. She caught a couple of fish and now he wants to fish with me. I do expect her to put the rod down if she doesn't get any action for an hour or so.  :)

All things happen for a reason they say so maybe it is for the better.

Better to happen 3 years in vs 10yrs and 2 kids later.

Take a big breath and smell the roses a little.

Good luck

Darn Right I can fish year round.

Like Brad Paisley said

"Well I love her.... But I love to fish... So I'm gonna miss her!"

"Women are like buses and trains, one comes along every five minutes.  Hop on all of them and finally you will catch the right one".

This was my motto for many years.  Lots of fun, lots of fishing and I caught the right one(or the right one caught me)!!!!

Kelley

yeah.......you need to focus on fishing. she sounds like a real "WINNER"........But, really dont give up on women, she just isnt the right one for you.  Alot of the guys in our club have women who do not fish and they are alright.  You dont have to find one who loves fishing as much as you, you have to find one who supports you and your decisions no matter what.

and hey, there are those out there who love fishing....but, you have to watch, some of them just say they do to be close to their men.  you can tell someone who loves the sport and would fish whether you were with them or not. ) like me ha ha.....with or without my bf I am going to fish. ha ha

but keep your head up.  =) you will be fine.

My wife used to fish with me all the time before we got married. Once she said I Do, it was I Don't Anymore. However she lets me go pretty much whenever I want with only slight nagging and guilt afterwards.

She's a keeper. She even gets me good presents at Christmas and Birthdays. If you find the right gal, you'll work it out. I love fishing but if I had to choose...  I'll get back to you on that.  ;D
