Ah...Just more propaganda...nothin' but enviro-hype.

The story is old and dead. The long-term impact is ZERO.

Wow. Lets dump untold amounts of oil in your beloved fishing waters of Tennessee and see if you have that same opinion.

That's what Rush Limbaugh said and he's always right ::) Yeah, anyone that was critical of any aspect of the spill is just a tree hugging enviro wacko.

I agree with Road Warrior.

The long term affect of the spill won't be much. Nature will take it's course and clean itself up.

And dumping oil in Tennessee is completely different than oil in an ocean.

I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions one way or the other so quick. Hard to believe an accurate appraisal can be made in only a couple of months.

Well Rush Limbaugh is an expert, at least on hot air, so I would imagine he has the academic credentials to give us a full account of what the future has in store.  If I'm not mistaken he is a college dropout with no scientific background, I don't find him to be a creditable source.

Considering the sad state of political affairs for years, even decades, and considering that many of those in high places in government have a list of degrees as long as their arms, maybe we'd be better off if we had college or even high school dropouts running the government.

They certainly couldn't do much worse than what is predominently lawyers running the show.

I thought it was eaten by a oil munching algae or bateria in the gulf, wasn't that the explanation a few weeks ago.  In all honesty, that oil has been down there for over 100 years  ::) and I'm sure it leaks out onto the ocean floor from time to time without us knowing.  I'm inno way supporting the idea that it doesn't harm anything but it's a natural occurring substance.

When I was in the Navy, late 80's the Exxon Valdex spilled alot of oil in the Prince William Sound.

I wonder how that region is doing today?

That spill covered over 1000 miles of coastline and and 11,000 sq miles of ocean approx.

Instead of speculating, find out how those salmon grounds are doing today.

That spill wasn't near the largest on record at that time, but due to location, it made operations costly to clean up and very time consuming.

Oil in Alaska will take a lot longer to evaporate than oil in the Gulf. I think there will be some impact, but not as severe as what happened with the Exxon spill.

I am neither a biologist nor a chemist (actually I am a computer geek), so I can offer now knowledgeable opinion except, I REALLY hope they are right. From a BR standpoint those are some great fisheries that it would suck to lose. From a human standpoint, there are a lot of folks depending on this not being a long term thing.

That being said, I trust the gov and BP scientists about as far as I could throw them.

Different ball of wax due to location.
