I bought a 15 dollar fruit cake earlier today. I just got home from work, log into BR, pour a glass of cold milk and break out the cake only to find they shorted me on the fruit.  This just ain't right :(

People eat fruit cake? :-/

People buy fruitcake?

I didn't know anyone still made fruitcake.

I can't remember the last time I heard someone say...fruitcake...much less buy one.

I use last years fruitcake as a wheel stop for my boat trailer.  I'm still looking for a place to display my Kia-bass.  Pork and Beans don't even have that little remnant of pork fat in them....they just print the word OINK on the lid. My wife just bought a box of Whitman chocolates and the box was double tall as if it had two layers.  It had one layer and a ballast layer of nothing but air that smelled like chocolate. Oh well, at least a package of 10 Senkos still has 10 in it.  So what is razzleberry dressing  Tiny Tim?

Huh...maybe the fruit is a $3 add on or something like that.  ;D

just eat the fruitless fruitcake fruitcake.

Didn't your mom tell you that you are what you eat?

I didn't know anyone still made fruitcake.

I don't think they do......they just recycle the ones already in the system....like sewer water.

Fruitcakes are traditionally given to people in the family or neighbors you hate, but don't want to admit it.

I remember hearing it, but I always thought it was a derogatory term...  ;)

these things actually exist? i thought it was like a unicorn, or the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Should have bought the $20 fruit cake ;D

My grandmother makes a great homemade fruit cake.  40 day cake I think its called.  I am looking forward to tearing into it on Christmas Eve.

If you got ripped off, could you say it was "Stollen?"

Now you're talking. A stollen is my my favorite Christmas food. I had a couple of pieces this morning. I had a piece of fruit cake back in the early 70s. I've had no desire for another. Is the "fruit" in one of those things really fruit. It tastes like it was made by Dow Chemical. I would think less is more. :)

My wife loves them.

I think they are poison.  ;D

  • 2 weeks later...

some fruitcakes are just not fruity. I always have fruitcake around Christmastime, the good ones are usually $30 and up.
