The best worm ever.....

Featured Replies

Hypothetically, you can only fish one "plastic worm" from here on out.

Which one do you use? If yours is picked, name another.

note the make, color, and rig.

To start, I'm gonna say a watermelon black flake weightless senko.

Gene Larew 7 ½ Salty Ring Worm Cinnamon Pepper Neon/June Bug Laminated (Camouflage)

5 inch senko rigged weightless and weedless. Color dosen't matter as long as its dark and not to boring like plain black even though black works great.

10 inch rage tail anaconda in watermelon w/red & black on a 3/8oz tungsten texas rig on braided line.  I won't buy another worm other than Anacondas (both sizes, various colors) ever again.  I'm sold.

Even though I'm fairly new at this game, I've been doing well with ZOOM trick worms lately. Cought 5 yesterday on June Bug. Missed 2 and I couldn't even get a nibble on a watermelon seed senko.

Mike

8 in hand poured curly tail cinamon blue. There are several brands that make good versions. That is my #1 daytime worm.

my #1 night time worm is a 10in dark colored power worm.

if I could only use one it would be the hand pour

I would have to say a 6" big bite brush hog in the watermelon/chartruese color with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight on 17 lb 100% berkley flouro. This is my go to bait.

5" *** (smoke blue pepper) tex-posed with a 4/0 gammy g-lock and a parasite clip.

No fair Brian, you gotta pick somthin' else, the Rage Anacondas aren't even on the market yet.    :'(

Big O

5" Yum Dinger in watermelon seed. This worm has better action than any other worm I've tried, it sinks slower and better than senkos, is far more durable, and I believe the scent they use really works. I was able to catch 16 fish on one worm before it broke! It has produced for me in every water I've been to.

Any proven plastic in any proven color (natural)

(as long as it's from a company I respect)

It's not the car, it's the driver.

;)

6" Roboworm Straight Tail (Warmouth)

Honerable Mention: 10" Berkley Power Worm (Tequilla Sunrise)

That's it in a nutshell! X2

Holy jeez just one worm? There's no way I could ever use only one! You can't go wrong with a 5" green pumpkin senko anywhere though.

Agreed, That's the all time top producer hands down in my book.

That 's an easy one, I learned to fish worms with straight tail worms: Mann 's 6" Jelly Worms, even though I 've got other types of worms straight tail worms have always worked for me, in other words, 80% of my worming is done with straight tail worms. After stocking heavily with Jelly Worms in the mid 80 's my inventory of them lasted until a couple of years ago, I tried Trickworms and liked them very much so now I fish with trickworms almost exclusively.

7-1/2" Culprit worm (color= black shad) hands down for me!

Ronnie

5" berkley power shakey worm in either red shad or watermelon candy... probably watermelon candy

  • Super User

I guess i use berkley powerworm 7.5" in tequila sunrise color the most.

But i suck as a driver fishing these worms....I don't get many bites on them.I'll gladly admit...i need help,i get the gist of fishing these worms just nothing seems to want to bite them.  :-?

5" *** in watermelon chartail!

While senko's have produced for me, they just don't last long enough for me. I've found the *** gets just as many hits and it lasts a whole lot longer. I like the Yum Dinger, but the trick stick is a better deal IMO.
