Sabiki rig??

Featured Replies

You catch bait with a sabiki rig.

You could use it to catch little bream and baby bass if you want those for some reason...

Buy a few bags of culprit worms from walmart and go to work with those instead.

Yeah, I can really see the allure of catching a few small fish if you catch 8 and 9 pounders all day long... :-/  :;)

I know the best way to use a sabiki rig. Go offshore and use it to catch some hardtails to be used for bait on snapper and grouper.

8-9lbers all day  ;D

I must have missed something in the tournament and outing section  ;)

Funny how you make that comment when on some of your previous posts you ask how to catch larger bass. Try to be truthful and people on here will take you more seriously.

This is what you do.

Use an ultra light spinning rig with 4 pound test.

Tie rig onto line and fish it like you would a spinnerbait.

That is, throw it out and reel it back to you.

You will catch bream, bluegills and small bass.

Have fun.  ;)

NO way man it was a superman pole.

sabiki rig?   haven't heard of this much.  is this similar to the "budwieser rig" or the "sticky green rig"?  these are the rigs most commonly used by folks who

catch 8-9+ lb bass all the time
sometimes both are used in the same "trip", resulting in a banner day.  however these rigs contain chemicals known in the state of california to cause nausea, vomiting, severe headaches, and legal complications.  use at your own risk.

That is the funniest thing I have read all day Paul. Thanks for the laugh!

Geez...

:;)

You can put a splitshot weight at the end of the rig and just lift and drop it.  They are great for catching schooling shads  ;D once you have one fish hooked dont take him off, let him run with it and soon you will hook a few more.

Watch out ..... there 's a huge pile of BS right there, don 't step on it !

I put a drop-shot weight on the end of a Sabiki and caught a lil' tiny peacock bass the other day! Pretty much the coolest thing you'll catch with it.  8-)

I caught 8-9 lb'ers all the time to when I was 13.  Now that I'm 41, I realized the scale was calibrated in ounces, not pounds.  It's alright, you're allowed to make that mistake at 13.

I've used the sabiki rig to catch blueback herring and alewife.  They make great striper bait.
