This is my first post but i have been lurking around the site for a while.  I just wanted to share a picture of my personal best bass that i caught a few days ago.  How much do you think it weighs?  It measured in at 25"  long but i didnt measure the girth. I am guessing between 8 ad 10 pounds.  I guess for reference i am 6' 150lbs

WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great fish , about 8 lbs.

Welcome to the forums, this place is chuck full of good advice.

And nice fish! Thats a real fat one. I say 8lbs sounds right, but it could be anywhere from 7-9llbs. Its hard to tell just by pictures.

Thanks for the replies  :) I caught this in a small canal in Plantation where I live.   I threw a weightless watermelon red flake tiki stick near a culvert and she juss popped out and ate it.  Not much of a fight but some vicious head shakes.  I'll post more hawgs as they some.  Tight lines.

Nice hawg!! I wont touch the weight, im never close anyway but its an awesome fish!! Arent you worried about gators when fishin the banks down there? Ive only been to florida one time but I always here about people getting attacked in Florida. My dream is to fish anywhere in Florida.

Nice hawg. Welcome.  I'm getting a scale myself.  No more guessing, I'm hunting for hawgs now.

As for the gators...they aint as bad as the 2 legged ones ya really have to keep your eyes on.

I'm not worried about gators at all.  What worries me are the Water Moccasins.  Where i fish they are sometimes around the banks but i have also come across two 4 ft Green Anacondas and a few baby pythons.  Snakes arenot as chill as gators.

Welcome aboard!

I would guess either side of 7 lbs.

Welcome. Beautiful fish Bass Mekanik !

Just one thing to consider..... if you should catch another fish that is close to the same size (which you certainly will, sooner or later) how will you know which one is your new PB ? Gotta' get / bring that scale :-)

Continued success to you !

Peace,

Fish

Very nice 7-9(?) lb Bass and welcome to BR from a sixth generation Floridian.
