I've never been in any kind of tournament before. Do any of you have a story or two? Was it what you expected? Any opinions on special tournaments for women (do you think doing this just re-enforces segrigation?) Why do you think this forum petered out for awhile? Hmmm! Glad to have you here 'T'!

Hey All!   I'm Tiffany. I've been into fishing for about 4 years or so. If I'm fishing, I'm typically looking for largemouth. I started out dock fishing right off my families dock in Sodus Bay, NY.

  • I live in Oklahoma and outfish my husband and his friends regularly if not always. I live to catch black bass and love to eat crappie and catfish. Any other Oklahomans out there?

Its about time us women get the reckonigition we deserve. My boyfriend got me hook on bass fishing a year ago. I hadnt been fishing since i was little. Now i can out fish him. He gave me this book to read the deadliest lures. Then i read about how to bug bedding bass and that you should use a lizard so i did and it worked like a charm. So my boyfriend got jealous. Are there any men and women team tournaments in NC?

Hi! New here from South Florida. My name is Andrea and I grew up saltwater fishing but have recently been learning about bass fishing after a lucky stint in Wisconsin gave me the bug!

Welcome fishingator!

Saying hello from NH. My hubby and I bought our bass boat last summer and fished a couple of tourneys together. It is such a blast to be out on the water with him. I do better some days but most of the time he out fishes me... Well I am learning more and more each time and I luv the whole process!

Hello Everyone!

Finding a forum where other ladies congregate is so awesome! I'm hoping to find some buddies who would be interested in fishing; Percy Priest, Old Hickory, Pickwick, or Kentucky Lake. This year i'm planning to fish my first pro/am tournament with the LBAA when they launch on KY Lake in July!

Hi. I'm new to the website. I've been reading some threads and this seems a warm and friendly place. I fish for smallmouth and 98% of my fishing is in Canada. I fish out of a canoe because I'm greedy 'cause I want to fish lakes where I'm the only one and my canoe takes me to those places. I release all my smallmouth, but do eat some pike and walleye. I prefer surface fishing, but also fish with leeches, spinners, Senkos, and crankbaits. I know some numbers lakes where the smallmouth average 15.5 inches and hundred bass days per person are average. I also fish trophy lakes where I typically catch only 30 bass per day, but I'll boat a few five-pounders each week on those lakes. I like both quanity and quality and typically visit several lakes in a week. I camp on islands and rise well before the Sun. I also fish deep into dusk and generally nap, swim, cook, and do camp chores during the day. I'm looking forward to learning how others catch bass and maybe even fishing with one or two of you!

P.S. - I'm not that crickety. It's just a goofy name.

Welcome crickety!!

Thanks, Ida. It's nice to cyber-meet other women who like to fish. I think it's odd that more women don't like to fish. Men don't have an advantage since strength isn't essential while fishing. I suspect it's just opportunity and exposure.

I like getting out there fishing and chatting up absolute strangers. I have a passion for fishing, that can be contagious. :eyebrows:

Thought I might as well introduce myself, I am Beckie, life long Okie, living in Broken Arrow, OK now.   I am a weekend angler for fun, very unlikely I will be anything more and that is OK with me.  I have always loved fish and fishing though and I love it more since we bought a boat last summer.  I mostly fish Ft. Gibson OK with my husband and son.  I am usually ready to hit the lake at a moments notice.  It would be nice to have a girls fishing day though, there are some things boys just don't understand about girls :)

We are going on the Bass Resource roadtrip in May so hopefully I get to meet some of you then.
