cgs2004
I've had good luck by doing 2 things: 1) Put the plastics you know will produce in your tackle box. My tackle box holds 6 plastic boxes. 2 of which are for plastics. 1 labeled "worms" that holds all plastics that are shaped long and narrow such as worms, slugos, senkos, and so on. 2nd on labeled "soft plastics" which holds creatures, tubes, and all the other stuff beween. 2) bring along a tackle binder that holds the plastics I might possibly use but somewhat doubtful. Very rarely have I ever had to break into the binder but just for reassurance it's always there and by puting those baits in the binder it has really organized my tackle box and made it much easier to locate the baits I need when the time calls for it. John Cullum
I have a 10 Tupperware bins that are 7.5 inches wide and 12.5 inches long. They are wide enough to fit most kinds of soft plastics bags in. You place them in the bins like they hang form the hooks at the store. The bins will fit around 20 bags and they are standing up so the labels are easy to read. When your looking for a soft plastic you can easily find them. I put Senkos in one, lizards,Norries Bugs in another and so on. I can fit 6 bins full of soft plastics under my rod organizer. I don't even put the lids back on they stay in the bins even in rough water. Most of the water I fish I've fished before so I will take the bins out of the boat and re-fill them with the types of soft plastics I will be useing. After the tourney/pre-fishing I will re-fill them again for the next lake. Most of the water I fish is stained so there are some bins that stay in the boat almost all year. I keep all my "extra"bags of soft plastics in a dress with like kind in each drawer. So far it's the fastest most organized way I found. Cephkiller
I keep all my "extra"bags of soft plastics in a dress WOW! I bet no one else has thought of using ladies' wear for tackle storage ;D
JT Bagwell
LOL @ lures stored in a dress I keep my soft plastics in their original packages. A lot of times I will consolidate and place like colors in the same bag. Then I just put them in one section of my tackle compartment in my boat. I do have a couple of tackle organizers I might try out. JT Bagwell
Snag
John, do you have a picture of the tupperware containers you use or where you got them? Sounds like a good thing. Later, Snag
flippnfish
Cheap and easy way to store plastics. Gallon ziploc bags. You can put 15-25 bags in each one. They save alot more room than plastic boxes. I also keep a shoe box with everything I will need that day. If you don't know what to do when you get to a tournament, 9 times out of 10 your just throwing away your money. John Cullum
By keeping them in a "dress"er nobody ever wants to borrow them and they never ask if I'll send them any. I'll take a picture and try to post it. I got them from WalMart. I think I paid a buck something a piece.
