Okay folks.  I am curious as to what kind of knots you guys use.  This topic isn't really a question topic, but more like a feedback topic.  Tell me, and everyone else on the site, what kind of knot you use for the specific bait, and action you are looking for.  And, I don't really know if it's possible, but if it is, include a picture, or instructions on how to tie these knots, and inform everyone why you use this specific knot.  Alright bassers......ready....set....inform!

Hooks, jigs---------->Palomar

Minnow lures ( jerkbaits )--------->Rapala

Lures, spinnerbaits-----------> Double clinch.

I use palomar knots on everything except minnow style cranks, where i use a rapala knot, or a 1/2" snap.

Palomar for most applications, but I do use the Trilene knot on big cranks occasionally. The Trilene knot doesn't get tangled up in the treble hooks like Palomar sometimes does.

I use palomar knots on everything. never have problems with knots.  unless I'm in a hurry and seem to forget to twist it enough.

Palomar knot on everything.  Not sure what the Rapala knot is, but, sometimes on jerkbaits, I will tie what I call a loop knot.

A loop knot is where I take the line, tie an overhand knot, with about 5-6 inches of tag line after the knot, but leaving the knot loose.

Take the tag end, and run it through the eye of the jerkbait.  Once you do that, take the tag end, and run it back through the overhand knot.  Then, take it around the main line 4 times, and run the tag end back through the last "hole" made at the top of the knot.  Lubricate it with saliva or water, and cinch it down.  

Depending on the location of the overhand knot and excess line, the loop should only be about 1 inch long.  

This gives the lure a lot of extra action, and since the loop isn't really big, it will not get hung in the front hook.

I use a polamar knot for everything.

Trilene knot all day every day. It's quick and strong. Although after reading the rest of the replies I may start using the palomar more.

I basically use the same as Raul.  I do have one other I tie because of my mistake eyesight I have learned to tie in the dark.  It will not work on braid or flouro tho.  Here is the best site I have run across to learn to tie knots.  Someone else had posted it before.

I use palomar, regular clinch , and on rapalas' without a swivel I use the loop or what they used to call the "flemish knot".

I use a Palomar wherever I can, somtimes a Trilene, I use the Power Pro Knot for joining all braids to mono backing I used to use the Uni-Knot for that and the Uni-Knot to tie the line to the spool.

palomer on most.  i go with the worlds fair knot on my carolina rigs and on my striper fishing

Don 't know about you guys but trying to tie a palomar knot on a 13 cm jerkbait with 3 dangling treble hooks is by far a lot more challenging and time consuming than tying a Rapala knot.

I said I tied a palomar...  I meant I tie a clinch knot on everything.  

Palomar Knot when I can, Trilene Knot when I can't (yes Raul, big lures with treble hooks).

I sometimes use the Rapala Knot on small minnow baits, but I'm not comfortable with it on big lures (Pointer 128, Rogues, Husky Jerk). I appears to me that the bigger lures have plenty of action without the knot.

I use the palomar  90%.  If you don't use some type of loop knot for the zara spook type baits, your not imparting the best action the lure has to offer.  It takes less effort to walk-the-dog with loop knots.  ie.. the flemish.

The right knot really can make a difference.  I'm not just talking about strength, but also lure action.  I like to tie the loop knot on jigs.  I think it gives more action to the fall.  The loop also goes on the slim minnows and all topwaters except buzzbaits. Palomar for hooks, and trilene knot for anything with allot of hooks that runs below the surface like a crankbait.
