I thought the first one with Alpster was a grand slam.

AMEN. You guys knocked that one right out of the park.

I've been reading posts since before I was a member.  I've been a member since Jan. 2005.  Fishing abilities not withstanding,  a persons character comes across.  Good Idea.  Good 1st choice.  Congrats Alpster.

Anytime you can point out someone you feel is what this site is all about it will ony help keep the members you have.

My initial impression of the idea was not good. I understood all along from LBH's post that they had every intention of running it right to solve the problems it could create. I still think that if it is not ran perfectly feelings could get hurt, but Glenn and all the mods are very good at running a first class ship. So I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt to give it a go if wanted. Its pretty cool to give good people the attention they deserve if it can be done in the right way. If anyone can do it Bass Resource can. 8-).

If someone's feelings get hurt because they are not recognized for this award, maybe they are not doing enough to deserve it in the first place.

I realize that many people do things merely to be recognized and receive accolades.  Its the people that do these things with a low profile, expect nothing in return and continue their efforts on a daily basis that are truly deserving.

Oddly enough, these people are usually viewed in a positive light b/c no matter how low profile they are, people see them for the good things they do.

Case in point: Alpster, the first selection.

Hey Matt , no one deserves anything, you will find that most people like Ronnie and Russ do the things they do unconditionally. The joy comes in the act of doing for another, expecting nothing in return. I am sure this will work out well and will inspire others to do the same JUST KEEP  MOVIN IT FORWARD!!!! 8-)

Muddy,

I agree 100%.  I thought Alpsters turned out really great and undoubtedly he earned it.

This is a great idea.  There are so many people on this board and in this industry that do GREAT things.  The beauty is that they do it not to get noticed, or publicly commended, but they they do it for the love of the sport and really genuinely love to help.

Great idea guys, you rock.
