And then, while I'm talking to them, and admiring them, I will often shift them to the left and right a little, watching their eyes rotate back and forth to stay focused on me. Ever do this ? It's pretty weird. This proves they are looking straight at you, and not just out into space somewhere :-)

I voted yes but actually its my dog that give them a quick lick on the tail right before I letem go. He wakes from a sound sleep when I get one on and waits.

I actually noticed this today Chris! I caught a 5lber and its eyes did indeed follow me!!! PRETTY COOL

Just grab her right behind the gills and tongue her down.  Nothing wrong at all swapping spit with a girl who just gave you some pleasure.

But, I do have a 2 3/4 pound fishing "sand rat" that comes out from under the console whenever a fish comes aboard and she always kisses them on the tail before they go back into the water.

JK  I saw last weekend on a Bill Dance  Fishing show on VS. That kissing the fish can swap Bacteria or something and actually make you or the fish sick?  Interesting.   I do carry a conversation with the fish all though brief i love it.
