Was digging through my junk and found my PB largemouth picture.

How much do you think she weighs?

4ish.  Next time, lay her on 80 grit sandpaper.

;D funny, but not.

I was thinking about a bed of nails but sandpaper will do.

Exactly 3.98

Around 4. Id call it a 5 if i caught it though.

If the seat is a standard 12" wide, then your bass is about 22" long and should weigh near 6 to 61/2 lbs, very nice northern LMB.

looks like a similar pic and size to the fish in my avatar at  3.4

my guess would be 4 or 4 and a half

I'd say 3.8. Either way nice fish.

5 lbs.

Can't see the girth but looks > 4

I landed a NE Ohio 21" female the first week of april (full of eggs) and she went 7.  But, if times are tight for them, they can really slim down and lose a lot of weight.  Just like the mangy old cat that runs away for 3 weeks and comes back at half his original body weight.   ;D

I have a photo of a fish very similar. 5 1/2 - 6lbs would be a good guess. Probably safer to just call it a 5 though.

Has good girth, so I'd guess 4ish

About 4 to 4 1/2lbs. Nice fish though.

Without any type of measurements guessing based upon a picture is futile.  Even guessing with measurements leads to big inaccuracies.

Next time get length and girth measurements.  You can get pretty close to the length on this one by measuring the length of your rod from the tail of the fish to the mouth.

Without any other information, all anyone can do is estimate the weight based on whatever is available to make an educated guess. I used the boat seat on the aluminum boat the fish is laying on and guessed at that being 12" wide. The boat seat could be 10", however most aluminum boats used a standard 12" wide bench seat. Whatever; the bass is clearly about twice as long as the seat is wide, about 2" less, and the rod/reel confirms that. At the end of the day an accurate scale eliminates the guess work. it's still fun to try to estimate weights.

Haha. Well said! I agree.
