I dread loosing my " last " bait.

I started the year with six Slim Shads in Aurora black.  All were stolen by northerns.  Caught tons of bass with them.  The other crank is a Spro Aruku Shad, and I have three copies of about four colors in two sizes.

Mine is a color thing really.  I have 2 each of Bandit 200 and 300 all in the same color.  They are readily available at Academy so I am not too worried.  Plus, since I haven't lost one since getting my boat.

I've cranked quite a bit of rock this year and lost a bunch of crankbaits.  I was bringing two of a preferred crankbait for each outing but now I'm leaning toward bringing about 6.

I don't have any backups for crankbaits - if I lose one, I'll use another of similar color/depth rating until I can order a replacement. However, I do have multiples of my two favorite colors of SK Red Eye Shad lipless cranks. I order these about 5 at a time and replenish if I get low.

I have three or four of the specific baits and colors I have most confidence in......most cranks though I have at least a couple of each.

i carry two at all times, but i rarely lose them since i have a ok retrieving of hung lure skills. my goto baits are deep cranks though.

My favorite cranks are the Bandit 200, or 300. They're not hugely expensive so  I Have about two backups for about four different colors.

At the beginning of the year i had an army of Bandit 300 200 and 100s. I had 3 medium boxes with each group in a different one. I can fit all the ones i have left in just one box now.  :'(

I never feel like I have enough of my favorite crankbaits.

Man, don 't know about you but is been a good couple of years since I 've lost a crankbait, don 't you have a plug knocker ? for us crankers is like an American Express Card ---> never leave home without it.

Yes, I guess I should clarify.  I don't lose a lot of crankbaits but there are only so many of those special crankbaits that just seem to work better than others that are the same model.  It's just a feeling.  I always want more.  Every time I do lose one I feel like I need to buy a few more to find that one special one to replace it.  I don't always succumb to this feeling but it is always there.   :)

I usually have a back-up for the deep divers(15 ft or more) but just have one for shallower cranks

Here's how i keep from running out of lipless crankbaits. And, yes, I have more. Didn't even bother to throw out all the 3/4 oz. i have. LOL.

Why yes  i do. :)

I only throw top water baits and shallow runners from the bank.  For deep fishing I use plastics, jigs and spinnerbaits.

Two of each color of my favorites.

Two or three.

Suggest you do the same.  ;)

Pike are  my #1 crank bait thief. There are times where I can catch dozens and not lose a bait, then there are times when I get bit off every third cast. I try to have AT LEAST 3 of the same bait/color in the boat, and a few extras back at the house.

Fishfordollars at's what i'm talkin bout !!!!!! But i cant say nothing last year i went through my bag and counted 54 spinnerbaits i was carrying al the time lol !!!

ive been carrying upwards of 4+ of my deep divers latly.  Last outing i lost over $50 worth of deep divers in the area i was fishing.  After that trip i just bought a lure retriever so hopefully it will help.

Ouch !!  I picked up one of those Bill Dance lure retrievers for ten bucks and it paid for itself in one trip.  I think I found it a  Dicks Sporting goods.  I was paranoid because my favorite color pattern was dropped by the manufacture so I found 13 available through a whole saler in the size I fish the most and bought almost all of them.  I guess I'm not the only one with this issue.

Oh no!  How many do you usually lose on an average fishing trip?

Juicy Joyce over and out!

Kinda depends on what area you are fishing. If you are fishing a drop off then you will lose alot less then if you are ripping a lipless crank through hydrilla or bouncing a crankbait off trees and logs.

Okay, we are good.  If I loose one a year I'm set until i'm 70.  Better yet, I got a smokin' price. Thank heaven they aren't Lucky Craft baits.
