Welcome to the forum bassmatt!!!!!!!

I am from Texas.     I have never heard of that river.     Can you give us some info on it?    How did it get its name?    Sounds like some sort of Indian name.

i'm not exactly certain about the origins of the river's name, but i think it is native american. what i can tell you is, though pretty shallow and often wrongfully referred to as a creek, it's one of the most underrated fisheries in the Mountain State. It supports a good range of gamefish including spotted, smallmouth and rock bass, carp, flathead catfish, and of course the bluegill, sunfish, and prey animals these larger fish feed on. it's where i caught my first redeye and where i've fished ever since.

Welcome! ;)

Welcome BassMatt. :) This is just crazy how small the world is. ;D I grew up on the Guyandotte River. I used to spend all my summers there in a 14 foot john boat. Man oh man the memories I have of all the fishing I used to do there. The section I fished was just below the the town of Wyoming. There is a hole of water in between riffles about 1.5 miles long. I'm sure you know where I'm talking about. Can't believe another fellow Wyoming Countian is on this site. ;D Don't be a stranger!!! ;)
