Glenn, It was in my post in the for sale stuff.. trying to sell my skee t reese rod and it has the word censored... I would probably unblock that word considering he is a pretty popular name in the fishing industry..

Those three letters in that order have been used to reflect a very negative toward The World.

Funny. When my daughter was little we bought one of those "Curse Free TV" boxes. It would censor bad words, mute it and replace it with a caption. We were watching an Elmo VHS one time and everytime the farm scene came on the screen would mute and the phrase "clown-a-doodle doo" would appear! It took a few times to realize it was the rooster crowing.

 The word "clown" was used in place of several other expletives, too.

Is not **** a male bird or ***** a female dog, used in proper context those words should not be censored.

Yes, I guess it was (like Glenn said) a setting in the circuits of the box. There were certain words that were flagged regardless of the context in which they were used. Once we caught on, we laughed everytime my daughter watched it.

I'd have to say that those words are used in their proper context 1 out of 1000 times, the other 999 times....

On a site that is visited mostly by fisherman and hunters the aforementioned questionable words are use in context the majority of the time.

I'm sure they all shoot a lot of "male birds" and of course we have to teach those "female dogs" a lesson or two.

I think the morale here is that we are all adults, and using words like that ( no one ever cusses here anyway so removing the filter completely would make a negligible difference , IMHO) in the correct context should be allowed.

That anyone would think that no one uses cuss words on this forum is testament to the robust language filters in place.

I have a question. When typing, I can use cuss words, but they will be censored when I click post?

If so, that will make typing easier.

Pretty much, though I consider you intelligent and creative enough to not have to use them anyway.

Haha. I don't cuss much unless I'm mad, so those few anger posts will be a little easier.

I cuss like a sailor on a 3 day drunk, that said any mature forum member should have a sense of decorum and conduct themselves appropriately, filters really should not be necessary.

i don't think the new forum changes your cuss words like the old one. **** used to translate into nuts on the old board, it made for some funny posts when people didn't realize that those filters were in place
