Afternoon all. In my previous post I asked for opinions/recommendations on the techniques that would be best suited for my two baitcasting rods (6'6" medium and 7' heavy). Thanks for the replies. Now I could use some help in selecting a spinner to go with the Phluger president 6735x that is on it's way, it will be spooled with 8# YoZuri Ultra. One intended use for it will be to fish the senko. I could use advice/recommendations on lengths for a mediom or medium heavy fast action in addition to what other techniques a particular one could be used for. Thanks.

Knew I was going to need to edit this, should have included $ range. I'm looking in the $100 range, was thinking about a Compre if I can find one local (don't think so though), had 2 independant sporting shops close up in the area and am pretty much stuck with 2 of the Big Box stores. 6'6 or greater MHF from what I have read length helps for lifting the Senko off the bottom. Bass are mostly gonna hit the senko when its falling, so the longer the rod the higher you can bring it up for a longer fall and the easier you can set the hook, pull in line. As far as rods do you have a price limit?

take a look at the Dobyns Savvy line up...i love mine i got the SS703SF 7ft med..very sensitive rod! I got mine paired with a pflueger supreme.

A St Croix Avid 68MXF would be a great choice. I have a 3-power Dobyns spinning rod and it just feels a bit underpowered to fish 5" senkos to me.

The Avid AVS68MXF or Shimano Crucial CRSX68M or Cumara CUSX68M would be great choices.

Any of the suggested rods would be great. I have the "wacky style" St. Croix Mojo and it works great for wacky rigging and shakeyheads.

Take a look at the Cabelas Prodigy series and the Magtouch series which are both right at the $100 mark but when they go on sale they are in the $60-$70 range. I have a couple of both rods in spinning and casting models and they are great rods.

I own 6 redbones, 4 inshore salt, 1 offshore boat rod and a light I use for pond bass fishing. Even retail of $90 they are super rods.
