Ok, I have had over 50 bass blow up on my frog the last few weeks at the ponds by my hou, but I can't seem to get a hook into them. I let them load up on it, but they never do, they will come to the surface bust on the frog and then go down, but the frog always ends up back on the surface...... Could these be small bass that cant fit the frog in their mouth?

it could be a territorial slap. Try using a weightless horny toad (white works best for me) rigged with a 4/0 EWG. I'll bet you hook more fish with it.

Your going to get a lot of blow-ups on a frog, sometimes more than hook-ups. Using a buzz frog (like the horny toad) may improve your ratio because they have to commit to it a little more. If you are getting a lot of blow-ups w/o hook-ups, try throwing a backup lure like a Senko or a Ring Fry. This may get them to react and then you will have a better idea of what they are actually doing.

Use braid!!! And load the rod before setting the hook.

Small bass will for sure hit a frog and might be spitting it out once they realize there is now way they can swallow what they've caught. I've even seen big green sunfish drag a frog down. You could switch baits to try to hookup with more fish but if they're small enough they can't eat a frog do you want to catch them or use up plastic baits on them? That's up to you to decide but personally if they aren't big enough to eat a frog I don't really care to catch them.
