I am in awe of this truck. Ordered a couple months back, I was surprised by a phone call from my pal that manages the local Chevy store. It arrived a month early. Night and day difference from the 2007 1500 LTZ I had or my '06 Supercharged H2 for that matter.

They do extend out. These mirrors are a $50 or so option, well worth it and if you're towing a boat they make all the sense in the world.

I think the Duramax is a beast of an engine, and with the Allison it's a no-brainer.

Make sure you chip it, my buddy has the GMC Denali version of that and its a BEAST once chipped! Rides like a Cadillac sedan, tough as nails towing!

Thanks guys. It goes into the shop Monday - front and rear bumpers painted to match, AMP retractable steps, hardwired Valentine One radar detector, Lloyds Mats, Grant steering wheel, A.R.E. Tonneau painted to match, bedliner, JL Audio component speakers, 2 ten inch subs under the rear seats, 900W 5 channel amp, and in a few months a Cognito leveling kit, wheels, brakes and 33" tires. Oh and a Diversi Tech adjustable ball mount.

Very nice I like the dodges better just for that cummins and styling the body lines are sharp on the dodge but chevy is in a close 2nd. If they could pair the cummins with the allison in any body truck that would be the shiz. Ya def gotta beef up the engine though as much as u can the new laws make diesel's *** no black smoke and that DPF with urea injection is soooooo ***. If u run out your truck goes into limp mode till u fill it again.

I considered tuning it, but with 760+ lb-ft of torque, why mess with a good thing. I will say, the Bose sound system sounds awful.

I've failed more times that I've succeeded. The one thing I can tell you is that I've never given up. I don't think it matters what line of work you choose. Stay with it, treat people fairly and always think of your customer first. That type of commitment will see you through.

Oh and by the way, I'm a Real Estate Broker and investor.

They look like what I need on my '05 GMC. The ones I have extend, but are no where near that size. Not bad with the boat on the back, but I'm blind as a bat when I'm dragging the 30' trailer down the road.

I wasn't trying to offend you in anyway, and I fully understand that hard work and intelligence play a huge factor in becoming affluent. I just like to make note of what career paths various successful people pursue. It varies so greatly, and that is simply because with that hard work and intelligence one can be successful in an array of fields.

I believe along with all the other advice for being successful, there is one more thing. I have seen people.over and over go too far into debt to try and be the latest and greatest at what they do. I have learned it is best to always pay cash when possible and never over extend yourself. Grow your business as your grow, don't shoot for the stars with a very small budget.

Why did you opt to go with the Duramax instead of a Cummins or Powerstroker?

The Duramax/Allison combination is a tank. I plan to drive the snot out of this truck. All of my domestic trucks have been GMC or Chevy. I prefered the squared off look of the new Chevy 2500HD to the GMC. Not to mention, I'm not a fan of the 'Denali' look. I'm not that cool.

Work hard, invest wisely, don't spend more than you earn.

I'm on my....third business now. I can tell you from experience, it isn't easy. Find something that you enjoy doing first. If you don't like what you do, you won't put nearly enough effort into it. Part of becoming successful is learning from each mistake, and learning something each and every day. I'm not sure if I'm ready to consider myself a "success" yet. In one year, I've outgrown my property and am looking for a new building so we can continue growing. Thankfully I've built a client list that affords me the opportunity to continue moving up. There isn't much cold calling to do now to generate income. Almost all of my current business comes from repeat customers and people who have been referred to us. Customer service is key. Keep the client happy and you'll be happy in the long run.

Having a d**n good person as your CPA sure helps also. Initially I thought I was going to owe money, she does her stuff and find out that I was owed over 10k.
