Amen, I've lost over $100 on a day of fishing before and I know some who lost much more. Thats part of the game!

On certain days it can be a very expensive hobby. I think that is really why the bait makers put treble hooks on their lures.

If I win powerball this month Im buying everyone in this thread a bass boat and 3gs worth of lures and real senkos (100 packs) at 8.29 a pack from BPS

I may buy some rubber boots and try to get back my shad....both frogs will have to remain where they are until I get a boat or see the algae guy spraying the lake

$20 in three days? I've done worse than that in 15 minutes. Every bait I buy I consider a rental. I know I'm gonna lose it eventually. Besides, it gives me an excuse to go buy more stuff.

I have a Bass Raider and ever since I got it I rarely lose a bait. I can get in pretty tight spots so I just go get them. Actually, I FOUND about $60 worth of baits in a small cove a couple weeks back.

yep been there done that! i have a boat and loose lures constantly it sucks but thats what fishings about its all worth it when you catch the big one good luck next time man

Any activity has a price tag. We have days when every thing is smooth and days when they are not, any thing mechanical can break. A sure fire way to fish and be cost effective is a cane pole and a box of leaf worms, other than that the expenses add up.

I've never had my cat kicked in the ribs so I don't know what that feels like but yes, it does sting to lose a good bait. I've been there. It's all part of the game, though. I lose a lot less baits now that I have a boat HOWEVER boat and trailer repairs and gas $ to pull the darn thing (not to mention the cost of the truck itself and insurance) far exceeds the cost of a few lost baits.

My worst day was breaking my TM shaft trying to retrieve a bait.
