Do You Run With Your Dog ?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering who else hits the road with their canine companion ?

The puppies take us running (my wife and I) 3 to 4 days a week; in the morning mostly. We really enjoy it.

As for the pups, well you know how puppies are, they just pull All Day Long !

I stick to a brisk walk since I'm an old guy. My Airedale insists I walk him once a day. He starts barking in the late afternoon when I hit the john because he has become conditioned to my routine.

Nice Malamutts Jay, I had a nice female years ago.

As for my pup, she's 9 yrs old, and doesn't really like to run, loves to swim though, anyway, she gets walked twice a day for about 1/2hr each time.

My Lab gets walked every day. The problem is she thinks every walk is a hunting adventure as she normally flushes at least 3 coveys of doves in the fields, or a few rabbits. I guess she knows that it is hunting season and time to look for grouse or pheasant..

Nice pups! I have a bulldog....no running, LOL. We do walk every evening, though.

Nice - These guys flush a few now and then. Regardless of how many times it happens - I almost poop my pants, everytime !

Idk if my German Shepard could keep up. I usually average 6+ miles on my runs unless I am interval training. Do your dogs have trouble keeping up with you?

I don't run much, bad knees, but I do throw the frisbee for our sheltie quite a bit. If I don't do it she drives me crazy bringing a tennis ball to me so I can throw it across the living room. After about 20 minutes of that I just give in and go throw the frisbee for about 5 minutes and she's done. I walk her once in awhile but she's still a puppy and gets spooked pretty easy and I don't want her to run out into traffic.

I walk my granddog, an Australian shepherd, to the mall and also up and down my street.

He is a beautiful animal and he loves to go for walks.

We also play with a #3 soccer ball which he chases and returns.

Very intelligent dog.

I stopped running years ago when my knees went out. :)
