Which Rod For Spinnerbaits?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to get a spinnerbait rod and I'm going to get soe form of St. Croi rod as I have the chance to get them at a great price. Anyways which of the St. Croix rods would be suitable for smaller spinnerbaits no heavier than 3/8th ounce, and I will also be throwing an occassional buzzbait on it also.

Thanks

I'll second that, I like the full handle for moving baits.

Yeah I was thinking that or the premier, but the only reason I want the shorter rod VS the longer one is because ill be using it alot on rivers and stuff with close combat, so the shorter length adds greater accuracy in casting.

I prefer shorter rods for spinnerbaits as well. If you can find one, the St Croix LTB Sniper Spinnerbait rod is sweet. 6'3" medium and can handle normal size baits as well as the smaller 3/16 oz models (my preference, quite frankly). I think this rod was discontinued in Croix's lineup reboot, so you may have to look for a closeout sale or maybe a used one.

I too use the AVC70MF so the AVC66MF is the rod for you.
