I voted for jerkbaits, but there are others that produce for me. Blade baits, lipless crankbaits and jigs are the other contenders.

For florida winter fishing its plastics for me. Also includes soft swimbaits.

well I answered swimbaits not because I have caught fish on em yet in the winter...but because I have made a mental commitment to toss my 3 new 8 inch huddlestons nearly all winter in search for my new PB - so I am telling myself "it is my favorite, it is my favorite, it is my favorite" despite my innexperience with it in the winter....because too many people now have told me dragging it really slow on the bottom is killer for big bass in the winter. and just last month I caught my PB on a 6 incher, so its time to beat this one

but from personal success at this point...I probably should have answered lipless crank bait...

Right now I gotta go with soft plastics and the fat ika and senko have been working well for me when I can get out.

Lets see, when I go fishing(no matter what time of the year), I have a rig for spinnerbait, a rig for crankbait, a rig for jig, a rig for lizars/worms, a rig for Kermy Frog, a rig for spook,.......I cant choose ONE! Just throw them all, there soo much fun to play with!

I chose crankbaits because they are my favorite thing to throw all year round. They're not always my most productive baits, but they are what I enjoy using the most. Deep cranks, shallow cranks, lipless cranks... I love then all!

Depends on the body of water I'm on. For most of them around here it's small, finesse soft plastics but a couple bodies of water I fish there isn't any reason to have anything other than a jerkbait or a jigging spoon. So if I have to pick one I'd go soft plastics.

I voted jigs but it is a toss up for me between jigs and swimbaits in winter.

I prefer jigs over anything else but after learning about fishing jerk baits earlier this spring in winter time from the BPS Spring Classic I am looking forward to trying them out.

In Florida because of the shallow lake we have, even when it's in the 40's and 50's [which is d**n cold down here!]

I allways throw top water first when it's calmer and flatter, and last when it warms up.

not to highjack a thread, but along the same lines as this, would you use the same type of lures for winter time if you fish VERY shallow waters that are filled with snag central rocks? When I say shallow, I'm talking 3-5ft of water.

In my area, the waters get very cold but very seldom freeze. And also with no boat, I live off the shore.
