I was looking at some of the "Other uses" for KVD L&L and saw that you can use them for sunglasses.

Has anyone else done this to their costas? I would like to hear what your results were, because If it's bad I dont want to mess up mine.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning your sunglasses. Depending on their composition and coatings, if any, it could be harmful. Why take that chance?

Why would you take a chance with your sunglasses? They make lens cleaner and it isn't expensive so why take the chance? In most cases it is the same price or cheaper than L&L.

I have lense cleaner, but it was listed as good for sunglasses like a "protectant" from smudges and scrathes, not a cleaner. Wanted to know if anyone has tried it.

All I know is I won't be trying it on my Oakley's.

Using "lens cleaner" on your Oakleys and Costas is one of the very worst things you can do.

It is only recommended to use an Oakley Micro Bag or Oakley Lens Cleaning Kit to clean Oakley lens, do not use any other solvents, chemicals or third party cleaning kits because they have not been tested on our lenses and can possibly damage them. Directly from Oakley's website.

Costa recommends a neutral detergent soap.

From what I've found, however, lens cleaners typically have an additional wax coating that is meant to inhibit fogging. That, in turn, creates a coating that smudges far easier. I avoid lens cleaners at all costs, particularly those with any ammonia, as it can cause a problem with the films and coatings used to create a polarized lens.

To answer your question, I've used L&L on my Costas for a couple years with no issue, on lensed that are both 580G and 580P. It makes the biggest difference on 580G lenses in the cold, it does a great job preventing fogging from the moisture of your eyes. I can't find it on Costas site right now, but their rec is a neutral solution, as long as it isn't over a pH of 8 or under 5.5. (And if I recall, most lens cleaners come in at around the Windex mark of 10.5-10.7)

Hooligan, thats what i like to hear ! My 580G's fog up all the time and I constantly have to blow air up under them to un-fog them every 30 seconds until I take them off.

Yah, just use a microfiber cloth and wipe it.

Well I use Oakley's special cleaner on my glasses. I haven't had any issues with fogging or moisture while fishing or any other activities with mine yet so I'll hold off on using L&L on them.

My optometrist recommends ordinary rubbing alcohol, he's right, nothing works better.

If you have non-carpeted storage boxes, you can spray L&L in there to keep down mold and mildew. You can also use it on crankbaits, etc., to keep hooks from rusting.

ROR lens cleaner http://www.ror.net/ I've used this stuff for years on camera, binocular and telescope optics. It's the best that I've ever found.

Glass lenses fog, it happens. Same thing with my regular glasses for vision. Unless of course you get an anti-fog coating. The visual acuity and and sight from the lenses is un-matched and still better than Wileys.

i dont know about your glasses vs wileys vs whatevers and none of that. but i will attest that glass lenses do fog up, especially during big temperature changes like going outside on a hot humid day. but yes glass lenses do fog up. but you make it sound like yours fog up constantly, every 30 seconds? i got almost $400 prescription ray bans and the only time they fog up is big temperature changes. like walking inside from 30 degrees to 70 degrees, or walking outside from 70 degrees to 95 degrees and humid.
