Went out targeting these Israel carp and got this whopper! Was using light gear that I use for trout. Good ten min fight. Got two today.

I never saw one of those before......cool.

Yep, nice mirror carp. These guys get huge! Yours looks liek it has a lamprey wound on it's side.

Hey, I just did some research on carp and found out that that carp you caught is a mirror carp. Leather carp don't have any scales and grass carp don't have barbels on there mouths.

Carps put up one heck of a fight! As ugly as they are and somewhat hated they aren't a joke to mess with on light gear.....They are responsible for a lot of snapped rods from people fishing for other species. I watched so many people try to lift these things up over a wall,boat or horse it in only to watch their rods turn into 2 pieces.

I don't see too many good size mirror carps being caught in that size around here.They are somewhat a rarity to catch.
